Emily Simpson Shares an Update on Her Inspiring Fitness Journey
The Real Housewives of Orange County mom is approaching her new, healthy lifestyle with a positive mindset.
Emily Simpson is on a fitness journey, and she’s been sharing some of her best tips along the way. The Real Housewives of Orange County mom recently invited fans to ask her questions on her Instagram Story, and unsurprisingly, plenty of people asked about her new lifestyle. Emily opened up about everything from exercise to maintaining a positive mindset.
In one of the first questions she responded to, a fan asked how much weight Emily has lost.
“As of right now, I don’t actually know,” Emily, who shared an emotional moment with viewers when she weighed herself publicly in Season 14, admitted. “I don’t weigh myself very often because I feel the number on the scale can be detrimental to your psyche, and not indicative of health, strength, and body fat percentage, etc.!”
She went on to explain that she prefers to gauge her process without counting pounds. “I have lowered my body fat percentage significantly, and I like to gauge my fitness by how my pants fit and my BMI,” she wrote.
Emily explained that this behavior has helped change her thinking. When asked about the “best change” she’s made, she said, “Instead of obsessing about a certain weight on the scale, I decided not to really weigh myself often and focus more on feeling strong and healthy and fit.”
When asked about her daily diet, Emily was super transparent.
“Honestly, my eating isn’t great…” she said, adding that she’s currently in “pretty good shape” because she works out three to four times each week. Emily did mention that she has set a goal to make healthier decisions while cooking and choosing meals and snacks.
And as for how she got herself motivated to make a change in the first place? Emily credits her personal trainer, Paulina Taylor Hefferan, for helping her get motivated.
In an earlier post, Emily explained that although she's not yet where she wants to be, "It's all about finding balance, enjoying what you're doing, and focusing on consistency."
