Gina Kirschenheiter’s Skincare Routine Helped Her Become the “Best Version” of Herself
“It wasn’t just a vanity thing for me,” the RHOC cast member recalled of her struggle with acne. “It really affected my confidence.”
Three years before she became a Real Housewife, Gina Kirschenheiter's move from Long Island to Orange County included more than just a change in zip codes. Soon after The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member relocated, she started experiencing "frequent breakouts."
"There is different water [in California]. There is different weather there. All of those environmental factors really had an effect on my skin overall," Gina exclusively revealed to Bravo Insider. Plus, the life adjustment came with "a lot of stress," which, the mom of three explained, "all came out in [her] skin." The impact ran deep: "It wasn't just a vanity thing for me," Gina recalled. "It really affected my confidence.”
Gina decided to address her skin concerns head-on. In December 2021, the self-described "product junkie" launched her new skincare band, CaraGala, which she credits for "completely [transforming]" her skin. "I've always had a passion for skincare," the entrepreneur explained. "Once I really started to have personal struggles, that's when I really was more invested in it. . . I just wanted to make it my mission and focus on finding the solution." With the goal in mind of sharing her products with "everybody else," accessibility was key: "Not everybody has time to go get facials and lasers," which are "very expensive," she said. “If you can get an effective skincare regimen that really is changing your skin at home, I think that's very valuable.”
Achieving clear skin wasn't just about tackling breakouts. “It really was about reversing damage," Gina explained. And after using her products "for over a year and a half," Gina is feeling like "the best version" of herself. "With regards to my confidence, that's been the biggest transition for me. . . I still love to wear makeup," she noted. But, Gina said, “It's personally very powerful to be able to walk out of the house with no makeup on and feel confident and radiate that confidence wherever you go.”
Now that her skin is finally under control, Gina has her product routine down to a science. With her brand including three targeted regimens — for blemish-prone skin, dry skin, and combination skin — Gina has been able to customize her personal lineup according to her skin's current needs. “I actually started out using our acne-prone regimen,” she explained. After her complexion “improved so much,” Gina switched to the combination regimen. Her favorite product right now: “I love our Vita Brightening Serum,” she said. “It really just made my skin overall very bright and even-toned.” She bolsters her arsenal even further with “statement products” from the other collections: The Salicylic Balancing Cleanser helps "stave off breakouts,” and she reaches for the Intensive Hyaluronic Cream when her skin needs an "added moisture bump."
