Gretchen Rossi Shows Off Her "Magical" Christmas Decor
The RHOC alum said the interior decor reflected her taste, while the exterior reflected her 4-year-old daughter's.
Gretchen Rossi brought some holiday magic to the OC.
Just weeks after unveiling her home’s fall decor, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum transformed her family’s abode into a gorgeous winter wonderland. Gretchen — who shares the home with her longtime partner, Slade Smiley, and their young daughter, Skylar Gray — documented the project in a series of Instagram posts, saying it was Skylar who came up with the overall concept.
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Smiley Household!” Gretchen captioned the November 28 post. “Thank you to [Gutter Builders of America] for making all of Skylar’s dreams come true with a beautiful display of red & white lights on the house! She loves the wreath, the candy canes, reindeer & sleigh! We really want Sky to have the best memories of her childhood being magical and fun.”

The video showed the Smiley’s Costa Mesa house fully decked out in LED lights. Strings of red and white bulbs lined the gutters and windows, icicle lights hung from the bargeboard, and snowflake lights illuminated the front porch, which was adorned with multiple wreaths, plaid stockings, and festive monogrammed pillows on the outdoor sofa.
A set of glowing reindeer was also placed on the roof and around the entrance, while candy cane lights, decorative gift boxes, and pots of poinsettias lined the porch steps.
“OK, I’m literally a hot mess express,” Gretchen said in another Instagram Story. “I’ve been decorating all day, lost an eyelash during the process today… But, yeah, the outside we do for Skylar. She really wanted red and white and candy canes and presents… the reindeers, the sled, and all of that. And even though it kind of gets a little wild and crazy, at least it’s outside my home and I don’t have to see it every second.”
Gretchen Rossi shares a peek at her living room holiday decor
Gretchen went on to say that her holiday aesthetic was quite different from her daughter's, as she preferred a more glamorous, grown-up style.
“I’m into this whole natural garland and bows and a really glam tree…” she continued, “much more, like, you know, for mature audiences inside. I put a Christmas tree in her room and we decorated it pink with butterflies. The outside is definitely for Skylar… all the kind of campy, fun stuff. She’s 4, you guys. I’ll never have this time back with her, so I want some parts of the house to feel super magical and fun and be regular Christmas colors, because inside the house I have blues and greens… So I let her have fun with the outside.”
Gretchen also provided a glimpse at her living room Christmas decor and her 8-foot-tall flocked tree. The piece was covered in blue and white ornaments, which went perfectly with the white stockings that hung from the fireplace mantel and the Santa Claus figurine that was placed by a window.
