Go Inside Heather & Terry Dubrow’s Final Moments in Their House: “This Is Our Goodbye”
The RHOC couple had an emotional last night in their iconic home before its new owners moved in.
Throughout Season 15 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, viewers have watched as Heather Dubrow and her husband, Dr. Terry Dubrow, bought a Los Angeles penthouse and then made the surprising decision to sell their iconic home with the help of Josh Altman and Heather Altman.
On Episode 13, which aired on September 6, Heather and Terry had one final moment in their beloved home before it belonged to new owners.
“Look at this house,” Terry said as he walked in. “This is the last time I’m ever going to see this house.” In an episode interview, Heather stated, “The deal is done, the party’s over. This is our goodbye.”
Although the couple was excited that the home sold for $55 million, the move was bittersweet, to say the least. “Heather and I have put our blood, sweat, and tears into this house,” Terry explained. “I used to feel like I wanted to be buried in the backyard. I never wanted to leave. I strangely feel like it’s not mine anymore, and I’m absolutely OK with it.”
“I just want to thank this house in 55 million different ways,” Terry added. “I’m gonna miss it very much.”
For their last moments in the home, the couple drank Veuve Clicquot (naturally) from the bottle and had a dance party in the kitchen. “Every inch of this house is you — perfect in so many ways,” Terry told Heather.
In an interview, Heather teared up as she discussed the move. “I am so excited,” she said. “And I will walk out of this house with such a happy heart, and really hope that the people that we sold it to have the same amazing, beautiful memories with their family that we created here, because it’s a really happy house.”
Why did Heather and Terry Dubrow sell their house?
On Season 17 Episode 9, Heather explained why they decided to move out of their home. “Our house isn’t on the market, but we got a cold call from Josh Altman to potentially sell our house,” she said. As the episode showed, Josh called the couple while they were in the car and explained, “There’s this family that’s looking around. They are heavy, heavy hitters.”
After deciding to move forward with the sale process, Heather opened up about what it meant to say goodbye to the home she and Terry spent years creating together. “We’ve built so much together over the last three decades,” she said. “Selling the house, yeah, it’s a sh-t ton of money, yes. But more than that, it really signifies, like, our next chapter as a family, but also as a couple. It’s so cool.”
