Real Housewives of Orange County Newbie Gina Kirschenheiter Gets Real (Hilarious!) About Her Diet
Gina Kirschenheiter has the purest of intentions, but...
As a Long Island native, Gina Kirschenheiter experienced some culture shock when she first landed in Orange County. "All they eat is goddamn kale," she recently quipped to The Feast. But, that's not to say that Gina herself doesn't stick to a pretty clean diet.
We recently asked The Real Housewives of Orange County newcomer what her daily diet looks like, and she broke down her healthy regimen. Spoiler alert: What follows is totally relatable — especially what happens after dark!
"I love to have eggs in the morning," Gina told us. "I think that if I start my day with protein it keeps me sustained for a while. So I’ll start my day with three medium eggs and then maybe a little bit of avocado. So, I start my day out really strong and then throughout the day I’ll probably have a snack like a KIND bar. And for lunch I try to have a salad or chicken [with] vegetables, maybe a little quinoa, you know, throw in a little green."
For dinner, the newly single mom dons her chef hat: "For dinner it’s usually what I’m cooking. My kids love seafood and I barbecue — I love to barbecue so I get out there on the grill." And then, that all-too-relatable urge for happy hour sets in.
"Somewhere around 5 or 6 o’clock, that’s when those patience levels start to teeter and so that’s when I crack open the bottle of wine and then it’s like [mimics a rocket crashing]. You know, it’s like a bag of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Followed by the kids' leftover chicken nuggets, followed by some weird random thing in the back of the fridge, followed by more wine. And I wake up in the morning and I’m like why, why and then I start it all over again. It’s just a vicious cycle!"
We could go on and on about how we relate, but sorry... we've gotta go hit the vending machine for our pre-wine snack.
