“The first thing I would say is to not pressure yourself. There’s a lot of societal pressure to look a certain way, and you see these moms who have bounced back — even me, for example,” the new mom of two said.

Ashley went on to explain that she took a slightly different approach to shedding weight this time around than she did after having her first son, Dean. “I will say I’m a little more educated this time about fitness and about how my diet and everything impacts my body,” she stated, adding that she started with finding the right diet.

“I ended up following this really good meal plan that is made for breastfeeding moms, and it worked so well for me that I’m actually back to my weight before I had Dean,” she said, later confirming, “The diet was first.”

Ashley, a longtime yogi, said she has also started incorporating more exercise into her life now that Dylan is starting to sleep through the night. “Now that I’m getting a little bit more sleep, I find that now I have more energy to exercise and I can eat better, and all of that plays into it,” she stated, adding that sleep remains a key factor for her.
