“I love it. It’s really just my little slice of heaven,” RHOP’s Ashley Darby said of her new $2.2 million home.

After battling the choppy waters associated with divorce, The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Ashley Darby was looking for a seaside getaway to revamp her life.

How to Watch

And the mom of two found just that with one notable exception: her new coastal-inspired $2.2 million home is actually landlocked.

Ashley showed off the new space in RHOP’s Season 8 premiere, which she playfully dubbed “Ashley Darby’s Seaside in the City.”

“The inspiration for the decor is coastal chic,” she explained. “Previously, living in my penthouse it was really dark. The finishes were really dark gray and brown and so I wanted it to be light and airy, very natural tones with blues and greens and tans.”

The 4 bedroom Arlington, Virginia home has 5 bathrooms and is 3,400 square feet.

“I love it. It’s really just my little slice of heaven,” she said, before joking “Now, I’m paying for it.”

How did Ashley Darby purchase her new home?

Ashley purchased the home with her ex, whose name is on the mortgage despite the couple’s on-going divorce, but she made it clear the new abode is all hers.

Ashley admitted she’s “not in any rush” to take any steps to remove his name from the mortgage.

“It’s like there’s that little bit of security where if something goes wrong, like, he’s there to also help me, you know,” she said.

The home’s cozy living room, complete with blue walls, a white couch, sleek white fireplace and mantle, custom bookshelves and wood-toned round coffee table, opens into the kitchen, which has the same ocean-blue walls.

Gray wicker barstools are pulled up to the kitchen’s large island. White kitchen cabinets, gray countertops, light wood floors and a clean white backsplash finish off the space.

A large breakfast nook with a wall of windows sits to the side (there’s no shortage of natural light in this house). Ashley already has the family-friendly space decorated with a long white dining table and wood chairs with a unique geometric patterned back, giving her family plenty of room to share a meal together.

A more formal dining room amps up the drama. The walls have white wainscotting on the bottom and a rich navy on the top. A large natural wood table fills most of the space as guests have their choice between two neutral upholstered chairs that sit at each end of the table or wood wicker backed chairs that surround the rest of the table. The room is completed by a white chandelier.

Upstairs, an adorable bedroom for Ashley’s two boys Dean and Dylan is decorated with clean white walls, white dresser, wood night stand and large white rug with Navy aztec design elements. A twin bed with an adorable dinosaur-themed bedspread sits next to a little toddler bed for her youngest son. An orange lamp on the dresser and cute brown teddy bear give the room a pop of color.

Another bedroom continues the coastal theme with a large bed with a white bedspread, white and green accent pillows, light wood end tables, large rug with blue accents and multiple windows to bring in natural light.

No home to two young boys would be complete without a playroom or cozy finished basement and Ashley’s new oasis is no exception.

Ashley Darby's "Favorite" Spot In Her New Home

But Ashley’s “favorite little spot” is actually outside. The entrepreneur shared that one of her favorite places to relax is on a large hanging wood swing on the front porch. The swing is decorated with comfy white cushions, black and white striped pillows and is suspended from the ground with ropes.

Ashley first showed off the new space and her son Dean’s impressive climbing skills in September, when she posted an Instagram Story showing him climbing to the top of the swing’s ropes.

“I was the rope climbing champ in middle school so this makes sense,” she wrote of her tiny acrobat.

Ashley moved into the home in October of 2022. And while it may be her “slice of heaven” it definitely isn’t maintenance-free. In July, Ashley posted a fun Instagram story showing just what it takes to keep up the home’s massive backyard.

Wearing a strapless hot pink sports bra, matching leggings, white Converse sneakers and a sun hat, Ashley shared videos of her mowing the lawn, pruning the plants and using a weed-trimming tool to get to the hard to reach areas.

“Still working on my weed whacking technique,” she said.

The new home may be a stark contrast from the penthouse she once called home, but it already has the stamp of approval from one tiny critic.

“Do you like your new home?” she asked her son Dean on RHOP.

“I do,” he replied.
