Ashley Darby's Son Dean Has Introduced Her to New Foods
The Real Housewives of Potomac mama shared a sweet story of how she's learning new things from her 1-year-old son.
Ashley Darby had counted out Medjool dates — until her son Dean had a fateful playdate. In a recent Instagram Story, The Real Housewives of Potomac mama revealed how her little one helped her discover a delightful new snack.
Standing in the kitchen while her son ate in his high chair, Ashley said: "When you say you learn from your children, it's so true ... So, Dean's friend ... shared some dates with him at the park. And, I didn't know Dean liked dates — Medjool, pitted dates. And then I decided to buy some for him, discovering he liked them." Later, Ashley made a discovery of her own.
"Lo and behold, I like them too!" she said. "I've never really been keen to try dates because I don't like prunes and I'm not a big fan of raisins, so I thought, mm, dates are the same. Turns out, I was wrong! And, because of Dean's interest in dates, now mommy likes dates. So, thank you Dean!"
Ashley's little one has also turned her on to some rather fab birthday desserts. When Dean turned one back in July, he celebrated with a spectacular surfboard cake.
