Karen Huger Explains the Real Reason She Ordered Milk with Dinner in Portugal
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member revealed the painful medical issues that led to her unusual drink order.
When the Real Housewives take a group trip, no one knows what to expect. But of all the surprises on The Real Housewives of Potomac's Season 5 trip to Portugal, the one that's gotten the most buzz thus far is... milk.
When the ladies went out to dinner one evening, Karen Huger ordered wine — and a full glass of milk. As you can see in the clip above, this spawned some confusion amidst the Potomac 'Wives. And even when Karen explained that she'd ordered the drink to help quell ulcer pain, the women weren't buying it.
But while tongues wagged, the grande dame had another chance to explain herself. During her recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the fragrance creator set the milky record straight.
"My stomach was killing me, and I went to the old Southern recipe of milk," she said. "But honey, when I went home I went to the doctor and I had a strand of E. Coli and Salmonella while I was in Portugal — yes. So, yeah, the milk didn't help it... but I was in pain."
