Ask Gretta: Sweater Pulls and Nail Polish

How do I keep my sweaters from pulling? I heard a rumor that you put them in the freezer? This can't be right...Thanks Gretta! Monica

Hi Monica,
You have definitely piqued my interest, since I haven't heard that remedy for eliminating pulls in sweaters just yet... My greatest victory for fixing a pull has been with a very small crochet hook! Turn the sweater inside out, and from the backside of the snag, use your small crochet hook to pull the misplaced thread back to the intended place.

What is in for nail polish right now? Dark colors? Clear? The trends change so fast I can't keep up. Lori

Hi Lori,
Nail polish can be the perfect way to finish off your look, and the palette ifs often dictated by the time of year. By keeping a sheer pink, red, clear and dark metallic in your cabinet you are sure to always be on trend! Lately, I've been wearing mostly dark metallics since they are a great transition from fall to winter. Have some fun with colors like, "Lincoln Park after Dark" OPI and "It's Genius" by Essie!

Hello Alex,
Due to the demands of the shooting schedule, I am so lucky to have my friend, Tayna Seeman by my side, to tie up all the loose ends! I immediately get a vision of how the garment should appear, but always consult her before jumping into anything... She is a costume designer extraordinaire, and has been a delight to work with!
