The Top Chef finalist is sharing his favorite Hawaiian recipes in Cook Real Hawai’i.
Sheldon Simeon is adding another title to his already impressive resume: debut author! The Top Chef finalist has just dropped his first-ever cookbook, Cook Real Hawai'i.
Released on March 30, Cook Real Hawai’i features 100 flavor-packed recipes that combine Sheldon’s signature Hawaiian cuisine with Japanese influences and Korean, Portuguese, and Filipino flavors. The brand-new cookbook also comes chockfull of stunning photographs and personal stories detailing Sheldon’s journey as a chef, including how he learned to create dishes inspired by a multitude of cultures.
“I’ve put so much of my heart on this project, I hope you all enjoy it and create moments to share with your families,” Sheldon wrote in an Instagram post on March 24.
Sheldon also took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the special project. In a video posted on March 30, the chef can be seen experimenting with different recipes and getting feedback from friends.
“Making of a cookbook,” he wrote in the caption. “Reflecting back on these moments in Hana, Maui we could focus unbothered on the recipes and photography. So fortunate to have our friends over at Ala Kukui to welcome us and allow us their space to connect with.”
