Top Chef Winner Joe Flamm Will Open His Own Restaurant: Here's What We Know
The Bravo's Top Chef alum is leaving his post at a prestigious Chicago restaurant, and has an exciting new project ahead.
Joe Flamm has some big news. On September 30, the Bravo's Top Chef alum will leave his post as executive chef at Spiaggia, a prestigious Italian restaurant in Chicago. And then, the Season 15 champ will open his own restaurant.
Details are sill mum on the new venture. But, Joe's dropped some hints about what's to come in the past. Back in 2018, he said in an interview with Robb Report after being named Top Chef: "My goal is to open my own Italian restaurant. It’s the next step in my journey, but I still love Spiaggia and I’m still the executive chef there. I’ll use this win as a launching point."
In the meantime, it's safe to say that Joe's not burning any bridges with his current employer on the way out of Spiaggia. He had this to say about the restaurant's chef-owner Tony Mantuano: "He was the first person I spoke to when I began thinking about doing my own thing. He’s always only wanted what’s best for me my career and family and I appreciate that about him."
