Brittany Cartwright Sets the Nose Job Rumors Straight Once and for All
The Vanderpump Rules bride-to-be also has the most genius — and kind — way of dealing with online body shamers who insult her appearance.
This is a big week for Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor: the engaged Vanderpump Rules couple each appeared in their own magazine photoshoots! First, Jax posed shirtless for Men's Health magazine, showing off how he's in tip-top shape after fat-shaming Internet trolls inspired him to lose 42 pounds.
Now, Brittany is flexing her own modeling chops with a major fashion photo spread with Glamour magazine. The Southern belle (who is on a fitness journey too) modeled Rag & Bone and Self-Portrait sweaters along with a Tanya Taylor wrapdress, and she looks like the gorgeous girl next door. The gorgeous girl next door with an amazing fishtail braid, that is.
Like Jax, Brittany had social media trolls on her mind when she talked to Glamour. She's once again fighting back against rumors spread by commenters who think she's changed her looks.
"I haven't had any plastic surgery on my face," Cartwright told the magazine. "No matter what I've done, I would tell it. I had my boobs done on national TV, so let's be real. I'm not hiding anything. I had Botox once six months ago. I don’t even know if it’s still in there anymore. I had Kybella under my chin a while ago. But I also lost 25 pounds. I hate when people say I got a nose job or my lips done, because I lose weight in my face."
She continued, saying, "I’ve aged," then adding: "If you’re a true fan of Vanderpump Rules, go back to the first episode when I started. Look at how skinny I was! I gained weight on the show, then lost weight again."
But Brittany tries not to let the comments bother her. "If they want to say I had a nose job, whatever. I know I didn’t have a nose job," she said. When she does fight back, she figured out a genius — and kind — way to remind people to be nice online. Believe it or not, her method even gets trolls to apologize, more often than not.
"I swear it's mothers who are writing mean things about my looks [the most]," Brittany told Glamour. "So I've found the best way to get under a cyberbully's skin: If they have kids and they're writing horrible things, just go to their picture, tell them how beautiful their child is, and say that you hope one day their child never has to deal with cyberbullying like I am from you."
Brittany, you never cease to impress us!
