Here's How Brittany Cartwright Completely Transformed Her Chin — Without Surgery

The Vanderpump Rules bride-to-be and her pals Katie Maloney-Schwartz and Kristen Doute have all tried the under-chin-banishing Kybella injections.

Typically, a healthy diet and regular exercise can help achieve a thinner look, but sometimes problem areas like double chins can be really stubborn to slim. Perhaps that’s why Vanderpump Rules beauties Brittany Cartwright, Kristen Doute, and Katie Maloney-Schwartz have all opted to try Kybella injections.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

According to the Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group website where the three get their work done by Dr. John Layke and Dr. Payman Danielpour, Kybella is a non-invasive, FDA approved injectable treatment for “double chins” and unwanted fat under the chin and neck. Kybella doesn't involve lasers or surgery, but instead is more like Botox, and just uses a series of injections in the desired area.

All three ladies have been transparent about their decisions to try Kybella. Kristen and Katie both posted pictures of them getting Kybella injections, giving a shoutout to their doctor. Right before Christmas, Katie posted her picture on Instagram with the caption “It’s been real ya three extra chins, but thank you, next. Getting that Kybella on with the only man I trust my face with @DrJLayke @plastixdocs.” Similarly, Kristen Doute posted a picture of Dr. Layke giving her an injection with the caption “my under chin can stay where it belongs- in 2018. LIT method + Kybella for the win! @drJLayke @plastixdocs.” New year, new chins for the win!

Brittany Cartwright was featured on their doctors' Instagram account @Plastixdocs with a before and after pic of her Kybella results. The caption shared that Brittany received two sessions of Kybella injectable treatment to decrease the fat cells beneath her chin. The post also stated that “the active ingredient in Kybella mimics the naturally occurring deoxycholic acid molecules in the body, which aid in breakdown and absorption of dietary fat." If that's not convincing enough, it also said, "...once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat!”

Brittany's before and after picture sparked tons of compliments and queries in the comment section of the Instagram post, leading the doctors to answer some of the popular questions. They also shared in their replies that the recommended amount of Kybella is typically two vials per session, but Brittany received only one vial per session in order to have no swelling or bruising.

Here are some other highlights:

How long/much is this process?

@Plastixdocs: It depends on the amount of fat that is targeted. Normally 1-2 vials for 1-2 sessions.

What does this type of procedure cost?

$1,500-$4,500 ($1,500/ vial).

How much does two sessions typically cost?

$3,000

How often do you need to get it re-done?

It is done 2-3 times. Treatments are spread out anywhere from 6-12 weeks apart.

How long does it last?

It is permanent fat reduction. However, it takes 2-3 sessions to obtain results like this :)

Are the results permanent?

Yes!

How long does the numbness feeling last after the procedure?

She wasn't numb at all. Each patient is different though.

Is this painful?

24-48 hours.

Is this a chin implant too?

no implant!

Did she have anything else done?

She had nothing else. Promise.

Why not do facial lipo?

Because she didn't want surgery or incisions.

Do you offer consultations?

Absolutely. In person or virtual.

Why are you more expensive than other places that charge $500 per vial?

We do not have nurse injectors. Both Dr. Danielpour and Dr. Layke are board certified plastic surgeons, they do their own injectables.

Where else is this located?

Look up a Kybella provider. We recommend board certified plastic surgeons.
