After Show: Lala Kent on James Kennedy’s Body Shaming

Like her friends Katie Maloney-Schwartz and Stassi Schroeder, Lala Kent will not let body-shaming comments lie. When the engaged SURver appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on December 17, she had a chance to weigh in on James Kennedy's infamous remarks about Katie's body, as seen on a recent episode of Vanderpump Rules. (Get a refresher here.) Needless to say, Lala was not impressed.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Peacock and the Bravo app.

But before we delve into Lala's thoughts about James' cringe-worthy "lose some f---ing weight" comment, let us note that the "Boy" singer has a history of coming to her friend's defense on WWHL. Sure, she and James both made some regrettable remarks about Katie themselves back in Season 5, but Lala has grown considerably since then.

When event planner Kevin Lee commented on Katie's weight in Season 6, Lala said in the aftermath: "My biggest regret last Season was body-shaming just a person, let alone a woman. And the fact that [Kevin] felt comfortable enough to walk up to somebody — it brought tears to my eyes when I saw that. If someone would have said that to me, someone would be bleeding, that is for sure. Katie, you're gorgeous, you're hot!"

Now, back to James' more recent comments. When asked about the incident that made Katie threaten to leave SUR, Lala said: "I mean, it makes me sick! I feel like we had learned from that the first time, and clearly I was the only one that realized that that was absolutely disgusting. And he's so like — the craziest thing! How can someone make the same mistake so many times? Like, what is happening? I want to study his brain!"
