All the Details on Stassi Schroeder's 1900s Heirloom Engagement Ring
The Vanderpump Rules fashionista's 3.5-carat ring was first acquired by Beau Clark's grandfather around the 1940s or '50s.
From the element of surprise to the cemetery setting, everything about Beau Clark's proposal to Stassi Schroeder was absolutely perfect for his soon bride-to-be. And don't even get us started on the ring. As Stassi put it, the Vanderpump Rules beauty's engagement ring is "vintage and amazing" —but there is a deeper story behind this stunning sparkler.
Stassi's dazzling engagement ring is actually a family heirloom from the 1900s. The 3.5-carat ring, which features a large European round-cut diamond surrounded by 24 smaller stones in a platinum band, was acquired by Beau’s grandfather in the 1940s or ’50s, and it was passed down to Beau's aunt, PEOPLE reports.
The design of the ring was a complete surprise to the fashionista, who left that decision completely up to Beau. “I’ve never really been someone who’s dreamt of my engagement ring, because I love all jewelry … any stone, any shape. Beau kind of asked me, 'What do you like?' I’m like, ‘'I kind of like everything. I know that doesn’t help, but I feel like you’ll make a good decision. Whatever you think is representative of us. I think that you’ll make the right choice,'" she shared.
The Vanderpump Rules style queen said, "I knew no matter what I would love it." Indeed, she did.
Stassi was instantly smitten with her new rock: “It’s beautiful. I feel like it’s like Cinderella’s glass slipper or something in a ring. It’s like, straight out of Downton Abbey."
The ring also appears to have an umm... spiritual effect on Stassi, making it that much more perfect for the horror/murder/witch-obsessed book author. Beau and Stassi have both compared the ring to a dark object from the world of Harry Potter, which contains fragments of Voldemort's soul for the purpose of immortality.
“I keep calling it a horcrux, because she said like, the minute she put it on, she starts acting all weird," Beau shared.
