Stassi & Brittany Clap Back After Katie Is Body Shamed for Her Oscars Brunch Outfit
Katie Maloney-Schwartz channeled French girl glamour for Oscar Sunday, and wouldn't let trolls put a damper on her day.
Katie Maloney-Schwartz majorly channeled French girl glamour for Oscar Sunday, hair bow and kitten heels all. To attend E!'s Oscars brunch on February 9, Katie put her own spin on a blazer with a jacket featuring an off-the-shoulder neckline and shiny gold buttons, which matched her swirling skirt with shimmery gold panels. Her heels channeled her hair accessory with bows on her sandals (just like Stassi Schroeder's Jimmy Choos).
Anyone who watches Vanderpump Rules knows that this beauty blogger is a total pro when it comes to drawing on the perfect cat eye. (Watch the video above to see Katie's best eyeliner tips.) But for this look, she took her winged eyeliner to the next level, pairing it with a sleek, shiny ponytail accented by an oversized black velvet bow. The hair bow from Basic B Beauty and pony by Bradley Leake proved to be the finishing touch to her gilded outfit.
We think Katie looks tres jolie in this look, but some people on Instagram were downright mean. Katie posted a screenshot on her Instagram Stories of someone who brought her weight into it, circling the comment in red. The person wrote in part: “You see the problem is that we watched Katie from the beginning and half the issue is not the outfit but the weight gain which make the outfits look a lot worse than they would look if she was in shape..."
Katie's spoken out in the past about the body shaming she's experienced and how it made her feel, saying in 2018: "Imagine finally finding the courage and strength to finally love yourself enough to stand up for yourself and then be ridiculed and torn down again."
But her girls Stassi and Brittany Cartwright have her back, and put internet trolls in their place. Stassi described Katie's outfit to a T, shooting back: "Everyone talking shit on Katie's amazingly gorge alternative Parisian-chic Carrie Bradshaw look can go shave their back now," while Brittany jumped in too, saying: "Agree they don't know what they are talking about!" If there was an Oscar for best supporting friends, Katie and Brittany would be in the running for sure.
