Lala Kent Celebrated 5 Years of Sobriety with 3 Gorgeous Cakes (PICS)
The Vanderpump Rules cast member marked the major milestone with delicious desserts.
Lala Kent celebrated five years of sobriety in the sweetest possible way. On October 22, the Vanderpump Rules cast member gathered with friends at a Chili's restaurant to pay homage to the huge milestone. And since no birthday celebration — including a sober birthday celebration — is complete without a cake, Lala's festive gathering featured not one, not two, but three of them.
Katie Maloney, who attended the bash, shared clips from the party in her Instagram Stories. One post showed a birthday-song serenade and offered a peek at the table of desserts. There were three cakes plied with brown and pink frosting. Scheana Shay, who was also at the party, provided a closer peek at one of the cakes.
Scheana's sugary snap showed a gorgeous cake with thick swoops of frosting on its edges. Pink icing spelled out "Give Them 5 Years Sober" on top of the gateau, and the frosting was decked with shimmering gold, pink, and white sprinkles.

As other Instagram posts made clear, the party also featured a golden balloon shaped like the number five, snacks including quesadillas and macaroni-and-cheese, and tons of good vibes.
The latter was underscored by the sweet well-wishes that Lala's friends, including Scheana, shared for her. The five-years-sober entrepreneur reposted a tribute from the "Good as Gold" singer, which read: "Happy 5 years sober!!! [Lala Kent] you inspire me [every day] and are one of the strongest women I know. Congratulations on this HUGE milestone. I'm so proud of you!"
After the event, Lala showed herself and her daughter Ocean in bed, relaxing post-party. "We got a little too lit at Chili's for my five-year birthday, didn't we, O?" Lala asked jokingly. "Hey, Ocean, did you get too lit on cake?"
Lala Kent opens up about her sobriety
Before her big anniversary, Lala opened up about her motivation to remain alcohol-free and why she's grateful she decided to give it up in the first place. The Vanderpump Rules cast member told Showbiz Cheat Sheet on October 15, "I believe that my obsession with my sobriety is what keeps me steadfast in this mindset. I revisit my rock bottom moment, recollecting why I chose to get sober, and then I look at my life and realize that I owe my sobriety for being here. That alone is sufficient to keep me sober.”
She continued: “I remain sober for myself, first and foremost, because failure to do so could likely result in a relapse. She added: "When I look at my child, I think to myself, ‘Oh my gosh, I had a few years of sobriety under my belt before I became a mother.’ Knowing that she will never witness her mommy losing control due to her innate nature; she will never see me in an altered state because of substances, and, to me, that’s worth everything. So, I’ll fight for my sobriety for the rest of my life.”
