Tom Schwartz Explains Why “It’s Hard Not to Be Salty” in His New Apartment
After moving out of his former house with Katie Maloney, the Vanderpump Rules cast member opened up about the size, cost, and notable features of his current rental.
After moving out of the house he shared with Katie Maloney, Tom Schwartz is opening up about adjusting to life in his new apartment.
“I don’t need much. I’m low maintenance. I can live in a small, little apartment,” Tom told Katie on the August 19 episode of her Dear Media podcast, You’re Gonna Love Me. “It’s just, living in a small, little apartment that you have to pay $3,500 a month for? It’s hard not to be salty. You know what I mean? It’s smaller than my apartment in college.”
Although the move has certainly been a significant change, Tom clarified, “I’m super grateful to have a roof over my head, you know? I do like my apartment. It’s just hard to go from what we had to that.”
As Tom explained to BravoTV.com last year, his “favorite room” of the house he lived in with Katie was their upstairs bathroom because it had “a beautiful stand-alone bath” (see it for yourself in the video above). Now, in his new rental apartment, Tom told Katie on the podcast, “I still have a bathtub, two of them. They’re not fabulous, but they get the job done.”
Living alone is a totally new experience for Tom. Before moving in with Katie, he “always had roommates,” he explained. However, he has had plenty of company as he continues to settle in. “I have friends periodically come stay with me, which is really nice,” he shared.
Being “worried about neighbors” again has also been a notable adjustment for Tom. “I’m back in an apartment complex, which, everyone’s lovely, by the way,” he said, “but it’s like I’m tip-toeing around on my floor.”
