Lala Kent Just Feted Her Engagement at the Most Romantic Restaurant in L.A.

Lala Kent and Randall Emmett shared a dish made for lovers at the most romantic restaurant in Los Angeles.

Lala Kent got engaged to her beau Randall Emmett over Labor Day weekend — and the celebration is still going strong. The Vanderpump Rules pal shared a clip on her Instagram Stories showing what appeared to be a scene from the most romantic restaurant in Los Angeles.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

Specifically, the clip showed twinkling lights peeking out from behind her husband to be, and closeups of a gorgeous dessert she shared with her date: a heart-shaped chocolate cake, topped with a classic red rose, presented on a silver platter on which "auguri" (best wishes in Italian) is written in chocolate, along with the couple's first names.

Pretty right? Well hey, as The Feast editor — I think I recognize that beautiful dessert and those twinkling white lights! And that's not just because I'm a Los Angeles-based food editor and a big fan of chocolate: It's because I celebrated my own wedding rehearsal dinner, as well as my recent eighth anniversary, at Beverly Hills' famously romantic Il Cielo restaurant — and just had that very same dessert. Behold my own celebratory sweets last month:

Looks familiar to Lala's, right? That's Il Cielo's heart-shaped flourless chocolate cake, layered with dark chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries, and presented on a platter with a message in chocolate script.

And while it's a popular opinion, but not scientifically proven that Il Cielo is the most romantic restaurant in Los Angeles, consider this snap of the alfresco dining space, decked with lush greenery and strung above with those famous twinkling white lights.

Fun fact, which I overheard on my anniversary visit, and happened to be seated next to the table with the restaurant's owner, so naturally I eavesdropped: The restaurant's outdoor seating also happens to have a view of the tallest lit palm tree in Los Angeles, with white lights snaking to the top and towering over the truly romantic scene.
