Does Naomi Campbell Think Gigi And Kendall "Have It Easy" As Models?
The icon opened up on WWHL.
Nineties-era supermodels haven't always been so kind to Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. So we held our breath when a caller asked Naomi Campbell what she thinks of the stunning duo on Watch What Happens Live.
A viewer wrote in to ask: "Do you think Gigi and Kendall have it easy becoming supermodels? You don't hear much about models being discovered anymore." Naomi took a beat, then responded. (Buckle your seatbelts!)
"That's true, you don't, like the way Kate Moss was found, or Cindy, or I," she conceded. Naomi didn't exactly say today's top models have it easy, but she did note that rising to fame in the pre-social-media age was perhaps a bit tougher.
"How we became known was...television, newspapers, magazines," she said. "So, it is a bit easier now. You have more of a reach." Okay, that was all rather tame.
But when Andy asked if Naomi has kept track of Delilah Belle's rapidly rising modeling career, was that Naomi throwing a bit of shade? "That must have been very difficult for her, walking in Gigi's show for Tommy after [Lisa Rinna] badmouthed [Gigi's] mother, Naomi said. (Not to get creepy, but pause the above clip at around 0:47 for a look that gives away how Naomi really feels. It's kind of hilarious.) As for her thoughts on Sheree Whitfield's model son Kairo? "He's beautiful. Really handsome," Naomi purred.
