Andy Cohen Talks About the Aspect of First-Time Parenting That "Freaked" Him Out
The first-time pops (and Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host) talked about one daddy duty that initially "seemed odd" to him.
Andy Cohen didn't bring his baby, Benjamin Allen Cohen, with him when he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. However, when he's not doing a late-night talk show, the new dad is practically inseparable from his adorable son. And as he told his pal Jimmy, becoming a father has opened his eyes to a lot.
"It's been so great, man; it's been such a journey, and it's been so interesting trying to just figure out how to do everything. Like, take him outside, I'm like, how do I do this? How do I take him outside? And I was putting him in the Baby Bjorn at first, and it was great, and then the stroller was sitting there, kind of taunting me, in the corner of the room."
Why was the stroller taunting Andy, exactly? "I was kind of freaked out about the stroller. I thought: I'm gonna look so weird, pushing a stroller, like, what do I look like, pushing a stroller? It seemed odd to me and I was scared to take it out ... I'm pushing like a grocery basket down the street? It seemed too weird! And also, I don't remember ever seeing, like, dudes pushing strollers. Now all I see are dudes pushing strollers."
Turns out, Andy's a stroller pro, and enjoys taking the baby vehicle out for a spin. “And now, by the way, I love the stroller so much ... I’m like, ‘I can put everything in it,’" adding, “Sometimes I take the stroller out without the kid!”
But, he does have a new worry about parenting: "I'm worried I’m gonna squeeze him too hard," the new dad confessed. Watch the Jimmy Fallon clip here.
