The Below Deck Crew Dissects The Disaster That Was Chef Kevin's Penis Cake
Creating a "cock cake" was "harder than I expected," quipped chef Kevin Dobson. Here's what went down.
The January 27 episode of Below Deck showed The Valor crew at the tail end of the charter season. At that stage of the game, Chef Kevin Dobson likely thought he'd seen it all in terms of charter guest requests. But after being tapped to create a penis-shaped cake for primary guest Jemele Hill's bachelorette party, the chef had to admit it: "This is harder than I expected."
Now, the cake itself turned out just fine — if you like penises pierced with sparklers. (And what bachelorette doesn't?) In the clip above, Rhylee Gerber called the dirty dessert "a masterpiece." And even Kate Chastain had to hand it to Kevin: "The cake was gorgeous." But, things when awry when Kevin brought the dessert out. Or as he put it: "Oh, the delivery was not well, my friend."
First, there was the small issue that Hill, the intended penis-cake recipient, had already gone to bed. Add in the fact that the charter guests were in the midst of a deep conversation when the garish cake came out, and indeed: Things got slightly awkward.
"It was a f--king letdown. That cock should've had a flopping mechanism," Kevin said. However, Captain Lee Rosbach was able to put a positive spin on it all.
"[The guests] were talking about like orphans and stuff, and [Kevin] comes out with a dick in his hands," Kate remarked. The captain had a short response to that: "Glad it wasn't his." Watch the clip above to hear the crew dissect the disaster known as cock cake.
