The Sunny Side of the Street

Episode 14: Bravotv.com's Editor talks about keeping up your side of the street and Spanish lessons.

May 21, 2012

Off Track
Next we see Bethenny get together with Jason and some of her old buddies from the race track. Over a sizable Italian dinner (and, as Bethenny promised, some serious Sopranos-style chatter), they discuss the difference between her father Bobby and her stepdad John. Bethenny does have some great memories with her dad (and with his friends) so despite all the rough patches, she has made it through.

But it wasn't all good times, and Jason tries his best to understand how Bobby could have abandoned Bethenny for all those years. Louie defends both sides of the equation, and it's true that there's more to family than just blood. In the end, all those issues were part of the bigger plan. Everything had to happen the way it did to make even that dinner possible, let alone all of B's life. It's good to see Bethenny getting some levity on the situation, as painful as it is.

Wendy’s World
Bethenny takes her tour to Wendy Williams, which becomes less of a jovial talk show visit and more of a fact finding mission. B's been approached about some six-week test options for her talk show, so she wants to get all the details about how the whole scenario works.

Bethany: I love you guys Bryn is so sweet and so is Jason!! I so wish I worked for you I swear, you and I would have a blast, I so relate to you, as a mom and wife With one exception I would be laughing so hard and peeing my pants to much, oh well, Take care and just hang in there with Jason he is a love, take my advise, marriage is a daily adventure, I have two boys and have been married for 30 years, sometimes soooo hard and other time and most of the time really great.... slow down a bit not that you asked my opinion, but slow down honey, some things can go on the wayside, put you Jason and that baby first, ten all the rest will follow, Most times I keep all the balls in the air, but sometime one drops, oh well... My boys are great and I am great.... Keep up the darling show Love you Kris Roberts Phoenix AZ...

Love the show. Keep up the good vibes.

Why isn't Bethenny blogging? Is she too busy for her fans?

My favorite moments for this season is now. It seems that Bethenny is finally embracing her life and her good fortune. How confusing was it for viewers to watch her for years (at her "invitation") and be so happy that she finally found the man, had the baby and doesn't have to worry about the rent...only to see her MISERABLE? The sad thing about now is that it is apparent that she will be announcing a pregnancy, only knowing that this must be the pregnancy that she claimed to have miscarried before the season began on TV.

Bethenny, I truly admire your hard work and love for your daughter. You say you are not mad at either your mother or father, but it's all you seem to talk about (and cry about). Sometimes we get stuck in what's wrong and are unable to see what's right. You have so much RIGHT in your life right now. Your baby is adorable, your husband (although he could use some therapy himself) seems to really want to make it work with you. Stop before you miss it all. You aren't just lucky, because lucky implies you didn't have to work for what you have. You've worked hard, you are smart and hilarious. Look at that about yourself and be thankful. Your parents disappointed you, accept that fact and let it go. Remember, your little Bryn is watching it all, and is taking it all in. I'm in the process of divorcing, and have an 11 and 9 year old. The hardest thing I've had to do in my life is to show grace under pressure for my children. I've accepted the disappointment that my marriage is coming to an end, but I will not allow my kids to see me act in a childish manner because of it. Not that you're being childish, but you must put the hurt of your childhood behind you. You can do it. Don't worry, be happy! ~Cheers

Dear Bethenny, I just watched this episode and found myself smiling from ear to ear. I love seeing you and Jason, so happy and loving together. Your daughter is an absolute peach. Please prioritise your marriage and eachother. Brynn will thrive in that atmosphere. Bethenny, you deserve every ounce of happiness that you have longed for. Keep loving and making love!! Keep going to therapy. Reach out to your mother. Who knows she may be a much better grandmother than she was a mother. Brynn will flourish having two grandmothers to dote on her. (I speak from experience!!) I wish you the very best that life has to offer. Emma, London.

Bethenny, loved this episode. Bryn is just the cutest little doll in the world! I support your efforts totally and a huge fan. Looking forward to seeing you on FOX. Who is badmouthing you in the Press again regarding your marriage problems?? So annoying. Everyone has to work things through as you and Jason are doing. Just focus on your family first, then your business. You need a bigger staff to work for you to get some free time. You can't do everything yourself. Jason is more than capable and loves you dearly. Let him work with you. XO to Bryn from Aunt Bev.
