- Bethenny Ever After: Season 2
Hey. Bethenny's assistant Julie here. I cannot believe I am writing a blog on bravotv.com and it is even more surreal that I am a part of this fun, down to earth and hilarious new show, Bethenny Getting Married? Things in my life are much different than I could have ever imagined when I left my hometown of Pittsburgh to move to New York in 2005. I always knew that when I met Bethenny in the Hamptons my first summer in New York, that somehow I would end up being a part of her life. She loves to tell the story about how she knew when she asked me to cut a tomato that I would be a great assistant. I am just lucky that years later when I was ready for a new opportunity that she gave me a chance and hired me.
I have worked with Bethenny since March 2009, and since day one, things have been fast moving and non-stop. A lot of the time it is stressful and tasks sometimes seem mundane, but overall when I step back and look at the small empire she has built - I am proud to be a part of it.
A lot of people ask me what working for Bethenny is like. It is most likely exactly what you would imagine it to be. She is a tough boss, with a lot of quirks, but very kind and encouraging. She wants me to succeed and is very thankful for everything I do - even if things sometimes move too fast to stop and smell the roses.
When Bethenny decided to hire another assistant, I was of course thrilled to have the help. Although sometimes I can be a control freak and want to do everything by myself, I knew with all that was going on that it would be nice to have someone to lean on. Although I did not directly interview Max (I was listening from the office) - he gave a great interview and won Bethenny and Cookie over.
I am a huge fan. My husband saids that you and I are so much alike. We are extremely energetic, say what we think, don't sleep very much, are business women dealing with everyday issues like business and family. It's funny because he is identical to Jason and they are even the same signs. As a woman and entrepreneur, I admire your motivation to be all you can be and still manage to be a great mom and wife. I have always been 100% towards inspiring women to accomplish their goals with or without a family. I currently reside in Miami, Florida and actually walked into a liquor store the other day looking for your drink which I did not find. I did notice that on the "Skinny Girl" website it shows only one store in Miami (Hialeah area) that carries your drink. I was wondering why your current distributer is not targeting the Miami market (south areas), which I believe could be huge for you, especially now that you are thinking of creating another drink. I know Miami from the back of our hands- we know the clubs, the liquor stores and grocery stores around the area. I believe it would be to your best interest to have someone take pride in representing you and your product, someone that knows this area- I believe that someone is me. Exposing and promoting "Skinny Girl Margaritas" in the South Florida Market (miami, south beach, coconut grove, coral gables, etc.)
I would be willing to target these areas and get your sold in every club and store in Miami, whatever it takes. I know this tweet is long, but I had no way of sending you this on a "private email"- Kisses to bryn
Julia,
I think you have a great job working for Bethanny. She seems very demanding but in a cute efficient way. But you seem to be a great employee also. You act more as a sister or a best friend than someone that works for her. I hope that her and Jason who I think is wonderful by the way yourself cutie little Max who seems like a doll can keep this show going. I just love watching it. I just love the idea tha Bethanny and Jason respected his parents by naming the baby Brin!!!!!! She is CUTE like a Button!!!!!! You guys make a wonderful team together and I wish it would last!!!!!!!!!!!
love Eve
I love your common sense, Julie! You're so good and consistent in your work.
Wish I had an assistant that worked as hard as you. Your comments come across very well on TV; you're a delight to watch in action. Bethenny is lucky to have you!
FYI all.. Bethenny's wedding song was
"NO ONE", by Alicia Keys.
Where can I buy a Julie??? You rock!
Julie,
You really seem like a well grounded person, Bethenny made a great choice in hiring you. My boyfriend is from "the Burgh" and I am slowing starting to fall in love with that city. Good luck with everything you do. You are blessed to have a job that challenges you as well as brings a second family into your life.
Again, Jennifer,6-11, same comment twice! I know i am very anal!! I lost my job and I don't have anything else to do!!LOL Honestly, I think you guys are great!!!
I love your close relationship with Bethenny. Please take care of our Bethenny. We love her and her new show! Good luck and best wishes to you!
Beathany, Let me try to understand this...On your own show you say at the JCC event that " you are more comfortable with crazy people" yet on The RHONY you yell at Kelly that she's crazy and you tell her she needs help...I guess Kelly isn't the only one who is CONTRADICTORY........You own it now.....
Hi Julie! Love watching you & Bethenny exchange! You're good for her...,however, Max needs to take a breath before he says some things, like...does your generation.....? He will be haunted forever by that! What a scream!! Anyway, maybe you or Bethenny could suggest that when he is WITH HER at AN EVENT, that he not look like the rag-man's assistant! Wear some clothes that look professional (shirt & tie w/jacket, or w/no tie) but, look like the assistant to a successful executive instead of the used sweater salesman. Right now he is cheapening her efforts. She is the best-dressed of the housewives & he needs to step up when they are in public. YOU are great to watch! Your job must be great and challenging and I am glad you are there for them. Bethenny needs a good sister! And not to leave out Jason, Bryn & Cookie, what a great little family he now has! Perfect!!
Love you all,
MH
Julie I know that things have been fast moving and non-stop.Also a lot of the time it is stressful and tasks sometimes seem mundane, but overall I assure you! Your God Heavens Sent! Your beautiful in the inside, I would love to see your beauty on the outside shine through and come alive! no offense Julie your always a mess.I would love to see you styling with your hair and makeup done and styling with beautiful clothing that emphasize your beauty! I still love you keep up the good fantastic work!
I Love Bethenny's show...but seriously , she needs to ease up on Jason..He's your GOOD AMERICAN WELL ROUNDED GUY !!! People have friends come visit !!! GET OVER IT !!! PREG OR NOT !!! I know how she feels to an extent
Julie:
I hope we see more of you in the upcoming episodes. :-)
It must be a blast woking with Bethenny.

Hi Julie
I am trying to do the exact thing that you did.( So it can happen) I am 47 years old and I have worked most of my life as an assistant. I am much a go getter and full of positive outlook on life. I am looking to relocate, can you give me some advice. I was just wondering how to go about looking for work in New York, as an assistant. I would greatley appreciate some advice. I have been on websites for jobs in New York. thanks for all your advice Julie. Really looking to Move and start New.
I am not afraid to change and start new. Enjoy meeting new people. dnmhibbs@hotmail.com
Can I be you for a week? Sounds like a fun job and a wonderful boss to boot. I have always wanted to work and hang in NYC! I wish I were you. Love the show.
Awe Julie! Can't wait to watch the show tonight, I'm sure it's awesome! Can't wait till you visit Penn State again girl! We miss you! xxxxx Congrats on everything, seems so much fun!!!
Hey Julie-- I can believe that Bethenny is a tough cookie, but you seem like one too. You have a "get down to business" attitude which is good! :) I can't wait to see more episodes!
Love the show! You all seem like such a fun group. Just curious...why no picture?
Of COURSE you're a Pittsburgh girl! Congrats on your successes and good luck with this season! I'm so glad to see a fellow Pittsburgher doing well! Best of everything to you!
Hi Julie, We just love the show and adore you and Max! You're so lucky to be working for Bethenny! Can't wait until next week's show!
Loved the new show and the honesty and laughed so much. Bethanny is so witty, (poor Kelly, just stay home) and vulnerable and I
think Jason is a great guy for being smart enough to "put a ring
on it". Can't wait for next show, congratulations to all of you!

I loved your under your breathe comment to Max as Bethenny left the office area, "and now for the 100th time." I believe you are referencing interruptions and not repeated attempts to teach Max a task. Have fun! Max is a really good choice for an Assistant. Love, love, love the first show and very pleased that Bravo appreciated Bethenny's wit and straight shooter comments.
You must be an awesome assistant for the fast moving Bethenny. She seems like a great girl, like her I had my son when I had just turned 40. Tell her to strap herself in for the ride! Thankfully she had a girl and won't need her track shoes till she gets a little older. Although I have seen some girls give their moms a run for their money as early as 2!! Let her know there is life after nightly feedings and sleep deprived nights. I know as I am a walking example of surviving it. Son is now 12, alive and normal. Finally, just for the record Bethenny runs circles around that twit Kelly , what a moron that girl is!! All the best to you and the rest of the crew.
Hey Julie!
Love you on the show! I have been a huge fan of Bethenny since RHONY season 1. Love her!
Hope to see more of you on BGM?
Can you see about getting Skinnygirl Margarita's in east Texas?
I hated to see the friendship between Bethenny and Jill split up. I am very happy that Bethenny and found Jason. I wish them well, and best wishes on the marriage and baby. I also love the new show. Thanks for allowing us in your lives.
julie
you seem like a great gril. you so lucky to be in bethennys life. she can tough at times but she has great heart and kind and of coures she funny. julie you so luckie to be in bethennys life.

Julie - I think it was brilliant of Bethenny to hire a dude to work with you. First of all, I work with a bunch of women and it is non-stop drama from the moment the day starts. I think Bethenny knew she needed someone to handle the heavy lifting and there would be little drama with a gal and guy. Love the show and you seem like a very down to earth person.
I remember working for someone in their home office and I always felt uncomfortable so I hope, for your sake, Bethenny finds some office space outside of her home. Too much togetherness and privacy issues are not always the best combination.
Good luck in the job and the new show.
I like the show...it will be a fun journey. What kind of dog is Cookie? I'm guessing Tibetan Terrier? We have one and he is our love--but possessive just like Cookie!
KimK
whatch the show last night and i love it
Julie--You seem so normal and down to earth!!! That's great. Good luck with everything.
Julie you are awesome on the new show. I am so jealous. What a great gig you have. It shows how hard you have worked with Bethany to get everything done and done right. You should be very proud of yourself.
Congrats to a Pittsburgh girl!!!! I am from western PA and lived in the South Hills. Love the show, it is so fun and happy compared to the housewives, like a breath of fresh air!
great blog, Julie! Now get that photo up despite the fact that you're probably some kind of diamond in the rough...
Love the show! And so glad to read your blog, and find out that you're from Pittsburgh. I'm about 60 miles NW of Pitt near Youngstown. Ironically our son moved to NY, Brooklyn in 2001, a real change from OHIO, and he's still loving it.
I wish you much happiness and success with your journey with Bethany! :)
Julie,
It's so nice to have someone like you to relate to. I get so sick of the high rich society of New Yorkers. I love this show!!!
WELCOME ABOARD....You will be a pleasure to watch in the coming weeks.....Seems you may be just the anchor B needs,,,
Diva
Love Love Love! I laughed, I cried....I hugged my dog evey time Cookie came onscreen. Can't wait to see more episodes!
laura jane, I'm also wondering the same thing. I WANT those shoes. :)
I have never commented on any blogs that are here at Bravo (let alone anywhere on the net) but I just HAD to comment today :). I loved the show last night!! I've watched B on RHONY and adored her and her wit from the first episode. I couldn't wait till this show started and now I like it even more since you're from the 'Burgh! Best wishes to everyone associated with this wonderful, cute and REAL show!!
Hi Jules and welcome to the blogs! All I can say is you must be pretty damn good at what you do because B seems like she's always busy, yet ENJOYING it! That only happens when you surround yourself w/good, positive, hard-working people!
Can't wait til the next show!
Julie- Congrats on a great show and you will have so much more fun now! You have done a great job in the past and now there will less (mean) drama and more real life (also fun).
You are so fortunate so have such a great gig and having Max will only make it that much better!
Good luck and enjoy!
xxoo
LOVED the new show! I always thought Bethenny should have her own show... forget those other housewives! I literally laughed the whole time - my favorite B-line? "Jason and I would rather be eating potato skins at a mall." Love it! Can't wait to watch the rest of the season.
Too effen funny. You remind me of myself so much, all I can do is friggin laugh. I had to enter this BRAVO commenting site just to say this and that I love you, think you are hilarious, and wish you all the best. ...And Jason and Bryn, of course. Congratulations on your new show. What a hit!
Great show Bethenny, love the interaction between you and Jason. We all know you already got married, but the days leading up to it we don't know about!
Just love you, your honesty, your talent, your balls!Continued success, with every venture you take.
Most of all Best Wishes with your little family! You are truly Blessed B!!!
Love love love this show. Looking forward to getting to know you more, you seem like such a sweet girl! Cheers,
Bethenny is very lucky to have someone that she can trust, laugh with and help grow her business with. Keep it up ladies. It is nice to see hard working women succeed and still have fun in life!
