The people are speaking, and they like drama and the D-list.
Nominees for the 2011 People's Choice Awards were announced today, and two Bravo shows are in the running. Both The Real Housewives of New Jersey and Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List landed among this year's TV nominees. They'll both be vying for the honor of Favorite TV Guilty Pleasure, but we know you guys don't feel guilty about us, right!? Kathy and the 'Wives will do battle with Tosh.0, Keeping up with the Kardashians, and the OTHER Jersey show, Jersey Shore.
The polls are open until December 7, so you have plenty of chances to help out Kathy and the Jersey 'Wives! The winner will be revealed when the People's Choice Awards are handed out on January 5.
While I totally get Kathy Griffin's nomination I'm surprised at RHONJ's.
Just goes to show how out of touch one can be: I've been thinking it's time to retire some of the Housewives shows (OC, Atlanta) and New Jersey was one of them.
Best of luck to the Bravo entries.
Enough is enough....let the viewers vote on which shows are worthy to keep and let Bravo "tune-in" with something other than over-saturation of "housewives". I thought a housewife was someone who had at least been married sometime in their life, at leaset it was back in the day before "reality t.v.".
just can't get by with all the foul language (bleeps) on all of these shows and Kathy Griffin and the Kardashians are the worst. The "F" word adds no value to anything being said- that was a word we would never think of using ( and still don't), Guess I'm too old fashioned for these shows.
Nothing guilty about Kathy Griffin. I don't see how Griffin fits into this category. Her comedy may not be to everyone's taste, but she has a specific talent & can sell out MSG and any other stadium. There is nothing embarrassing about watching a show that the woman obviously puts some thought and work into - if that is your type of humor. RHONJ, on the other hand, is nothing more than Schadenfreude, and intended to be. Housewives & Kardashians are watched and taped (then immediately erased) in secret, and those of us that are intelligent enough to know better, do not readily admitted to knowing anything about them to family and friends. Guilty, but not at all about watching Griffin.
