Top Chef Masters News!: Bravo announces the host and judges for its new series, Top Chef Masters.

Attention, Top Chef fans! Need more Top Chef in your life? Um, who doesn't. Well, you're in luck because Top Chef Masters is a-coming.

Each episode will hold two challenges for the chefs. The first is a twist on the classic Quickfire Challenge which tests their basic abilities and the second is a more involved Elimination Challenge designed to test the versatility and invention of the chefs as they take on unique culinary trials such as working with unusual and exotic foods or catering for a range of demanding clients. The food will be tasted and evaluated by the judges and a wide range of tasters for whom the challenge is aimed, whether it is patrons at a five-star restaurant or a room full of hungry kids — the food has to appeal to the diner as well as the critics if the chef is to survive.

And who are these judges?

Food journalist Kelly Choi will serve as the series' host, and renowned restaurant critic Gael Greene, culinary expert James Oseland, and food critic Jay Rayner will serve as judges. The show will feature 24 world-renowned chefs competing against each other in a series of weekly challenges, as only one chef will make it to the finals to compete for the title of "Top Chef Master" and a prize for the charity of their choice.

: 06/11/2009 - 10:00pm; Viewer; Why would they have a host that does not seem to know much of anything and looks like she's anorexic. It's very hard to watch. Liked the competition, hated the host and not that impressed with the judges.

: 03/31/2009 - 6:13pm; Rick Anglen; I thought this blog was about Top Chef Masters, and not Chopped? This is a spin off of Top Chef, so it doesn't mean they have gotten rid of the original hosts. Let's just be excited we now will have another dose of Top Chef, but this time from Renowned Chef's and all competing against each other, how cool is that! I agree though it would be nice to know when the show will be airing.

: 03/18/2009 - 8:17pm; buckeyecook; It doesn't say when the show will be aired, which is a bummer, but the criticism from Tom is what makes the chefs face reality. I work in the food industry and agree that the number one focus is on the patrons. As long as they stay on that kind of theme I think it should still make for a good show.

: 03/14/2009 - 12:43am; Shauna; Is Top Chef returning with Tom, Padma, Ted and Gael and which city are they coming to. I am from Australia and I love the show. It is fanatstic. I will watch this new one but I hope to see the others back in the not too distant future.
