This Is the One Bag Your Kids Need for Trick-or-Treating

The minute I saw these treat bags, I had one of those “Why didn’t I think of that?!” moments. I remember when my kids were younger and all they cared about on Halloween was candy. And more candy. And even more. Meanwhile, my number one concern was: are they safe? Can they be seen in the dark as they cross streets running (never walking) from one house to the next? One year I even made them attach clip-on lights to their costumes as an extra precaution (not a popular decision with the kiddos, I will admit).

Well now, problem solved! YEW Stuff, a brand of Igloo Products, has created POP Lights Trick or Treat Bags. Each bag has an LED panel on one side that illuminates a Halloween design — choose from Ghostly Graveyard, Official Candy Inspector, or Pumpkin. The image lights up in seven different colors or it can be set to alternate colors. The bags have a timer that automatically shuts the lights off after one hour to preserve the batteries, which should last for more than 40 hours.

And while the lights can alleviate some of mom and dad’s safety concerns, the bag itself meets your kids’ most important criteria: holding their precious candy. The sturdy compartment measures 11.5 inches wide, 4 inches deep, and 13 inches tall and can hold as much as 10 pounds of candy! And here’s a bonus feature: when your brood is not out knocking on doors, the LED panel can be removed to use as a nightlight!
