The (Dysfunctional) JLD Family
Trace shares his favorite part of working with Jeff (hint: it involves alcohol).
Aug 11, 2010A lot can happen in six months – especially when you work for an obsessive-compulsive boss. When the third season of filming the show wrapped, I was hired part time as an associate designer. Still in school, I balanced my classes and homework with my professional life and still tried to hang on to as much of a social life at twenty-two I could squeeze in.
Cocktail hour is a perk I look forward to each and every day. Since we are a small design office, we all wear a lot of different hats and work long hours. With that comes the need to be replenished and somehow a dirty martini is not only very satisfying at 5:00 but also rewarding. There is something I don’t find as satisfying, and that’s talking about what kind of bikini wax Zoila plans to get.
We have been working very close to each other and spend a lot of time together. The people at Jeff Lewis Design are like my family. And much like many of yours, mine is dysfunctional more often then not.
Trace, glad you are back at JLD! Your to hot and funny. Sarah is a hoot as well. I would live for those dirty martinis (much needed after 5pm no doubt!) Don't let Jeff get to you to badly as he seems like a caring and honest person, but tends to drive everyone a bit hard at times. Good Luck with school and all. Cheers.Matt.
Hey Trace! Love that your back on JLD.Your too hot and funny for words. Dirty Martinis rule, especially after 5pm. You and Sarah are great together, hope to see more of you guys. I hope Jeff realizes your talent and keeps you on. He seems like a funny and caring person, albeit a bit on the overbearing side sometimes but oh well. I love that you have remained on the show. I used to be an office manager at a auto collision shop trust me when I say that Jeff is a kitty cat compared to the owner of the shop. He was mean as a rattle snake but when the cars were repaired and given back to the owners the vehicle looked as if it came from a new car showroom. I can honestly say that when he yelled at the techs it was because the screwed up and it came out of the techs pocket to correct the problem,but when he was mistaken he was always the first one to admit it. We also had the perk of a five o'clock team reliever.
When Zoila mentioned going for a bikini wax, you face... priceless..
