This is going to be short and sweet this week because of a crazy week with over $50 million in closings.
As you saw, my brother and I partnered up to create The Altman Brothers and we are killing it! Matt and I together create a dynamic that is untouchable and have recreated the way real estate is done.
Donald Trump, look out!
Get over yourself Altman. you are no Donald Trump and you'll NEVER be Donald Trump. You and your brother may become the ALLMAN BROTHERS, because someone will surely spell your name wrong.
I agree with most people who posted here. Show was much better without Altman. He's truly obnoxious, rude, self-centered and thinks he's IT. Come to think of it, he does remind me of Steven King's "IT", The show needs to drop him and so does Heather. I know she's there for the money, Heather money isn't everything and I know you could find a real human being who will truly love you and not himself.
@taniasveta Tani, I am also old enough to be their mom, I just don't happen to agree with you. If all you are referring to his business acumen, yes he sells a lot, I'm talking about the person, not the salesman, I am a top sales person and I don't cut throats to get there. There is a certain business protocol and he likes to ignore it for a sale or to get the girl, that's fine, I don't have to work with him or live with him. But if you can find fault with Madison, I just don't know where your head is at! He's a pretty sweet guy! And he rents a lot because he's near the beach! DUH!
I used to like this show - until Altman came on. The guy is a total tool and unbearable to watch. Its one thing to be ultra-competitive but he is so nasty, so unlikeable and totally void of any charm. He is not what we call a "Made for TV" character. There is no personality or intellect - nothing but dollar signs from his head. As a Jewish guy, I can say that he is a sad stereotype of the "typical" Jewish male cliche - obsessed with money and nothing else going on. He must be a total bore at home (and elsewhere). Even when he tries to joke or laugh it is so forced and smarmy. Obviously, Heather is desperate for the money. There is no other reason to like a guy who looks like a hairy (balding) rodent and has zero personality! C'mon Heather - you're smart- you can do WAAAY better than this toolbag!
@hogan @taniasveta I don't remember every conversation, like you do, but that was not the impression I got at the time. In my business it is frown upon to be dating the competition, and yes, it is sales....it is a conflict, and if it is love, I know that it happens, doesn't mean you can just go on as if nothing's changed. It means you need to say goodbye. I think Madison felt betrayed and hurt and I think I would too, even if it wasn't intentional...he probably invested a lot in her. There are rules about how to lose a commission you worked hard for at every company, she broke the rules and she did lie. Tania, you sound like you're madly in love with Josh! I could go on, but they aren't important to me, I was just giving my 2 cents!
I love the Altman Brothers! So happy to see your brother on the show; he belongs on it! I wish you had told Heather that it was not your brother who didn't want her to join the biz, but she probably knows that by now.. I love you and Heather as a couple. Love to see you marry...probably will.
I try to like Madison...no cigar. He annoys me to no end. But I am still trying because I have compassion for him. He just does not have a clue.
Also, cant understand what he was doing in Bev Hills??? He took his clients back to his comfort zone, but they wont all follow. Just too bad. He is so insecure, he is a nat compared to you so you can afford to be the better person, and i suspect we will see that soon.
I want you and Josh Flagg to get along. He is different, but he is a force in his own way.
So, ANYWAY, Love you and the show would not be the same without you, P.S. I am old enough to be your grandmother so I say I love you in that way. There is not enough of you on the show and I hope that changes. You deserve your success and I know it will continue! By-the-way, I love your house. I hope you two stay there. Nothing posh and very nice living. The viewers should see that says something about you. Lots of character!
Much love and respect, Pam
I'm sure he's really shaking in his boots!
I do like the name, though...it reminds people how much they like the Allman brother more than you!
Just from the comments you make about your brother one can tell just how inferior you feel to him. And you should.
You got your seller more than they bargained for! Good Job! I like your bravery. I don't like your shark-like tendency to bite people's heads off though.
Heather - for the sake of your happiness and your career - run -- not walk back to Madison and away from the Altman socieopath.
You're joking right, you can't believe that statement. maybe had too big of a weekend, think twice before you speak
Josh, Shut up already and stop being a disgusting human being. You are a sleaze. Grow up. Did you ever hear of Karma?
Thank goodness you know how to negotiate for your sellers, had Madison been their broker, the sellers would have gotten 3.1 million. An extra $200,000 in their pocket......yes I can see why people hire you and not Malibu Ken.
Madison is a drama prone poser - he is a property renter. Someone told him he is good looking and that his hair style is flattering - he obviously believed them. He is too thin, too needy and in general terribly insecure. I feel sympathy for him.
I did not see once Josh breaking the protocol. Dating Heather has nothing to do with breaking protocol. Madison fired Heather over a phone? after all those years of claiming to be a great friend?. I was shocked. And it was filmed that she did not initiate the co listing with Josh...it was requested by the customer. If Madison cannot be 'understanding' of impulse Heather had to get him a listing and actually make some money for Madison, then who is the 'bad' guy? Madison is throwing 'sleaze-ball' constantly at Josh. How does it make him 'good guy'? He does it in front of Heather knwoing that they are living together. Selling in Malibu should be easier than selling elsewhere....yet Josh delivers a far greater results for his clients without any dirty tricks.
Being 'nice' should be a good things when it comes to personal relationships...Yet what Madison did to Heather was very 'mean-spirited'. being nice when it comes to real estate broker means literally nothing...zero. Putting your head on a chopping board to get best result for your clients means everything. Josh is defending his girlfriend...and it is 'being nice' in books.
@turrino then why don't you stop watching?
@turrino You are a moron to sponsor stereotyping any ethnicity. Self-destructive behaviour is what feeding your hate. And you evidently fool of hate. Get a belt and beat yourself...would be a better expression then associating your observations against Josh heritage. Shame on you. I am jewish and your message is repulsive. My mom lost her entire family during the war...and here you are bluffing about reasons to defend the haters.
@turrino your comment on heather nose are all you had to doe doe describe yourself as a person looking into the wrong places...'charm'. 'nose', 'balding', if you watching the show looking for people 'made for Tv',,,start watching elsewhere. bravo channel is about reality....Everybody work for money...making fun of people because they are good at making money is your sign of ignorance.
@shysharon @hogan No matter what triggered Madison (and Heather did not lie by-the-way), the way he kicked Heather out was way to revealing of Madison ugly side. And just for information, i am old enough to be Josh mother...no love in sight. Life experience and analytical thinking. I work with people for over 40 years. The one's that break the mold are the driven ones. And Josh has the drive...He will go far. personal life has to be off-the limits. Competition or not. Nobody controls people lifes...not even the boss.
@Hogan I like his house, too, but character? lolol
@leenelvis Oh my! You just do not get it. Can't spell either...it is sociopath and you better look up what it means too. Not congruent with Josh Altman. He is a love. He does what he needs to do to succeed and he is the best and cares about his clients; if he did not have to deal with the likes of Madison and Madison's weird psychology you would sing his praises.
@leenelvis Madison?I think she works for Mauricio (don't know for sure) ...why in the world would she go back to Madison? Madison did not believe in her and wanted nothing to do with her wanting to grow professionally. The cruelty with which he threw her out was a true betrayal of friendship she thought they had.
@backgammon Hey now! I haven't seen anything Slitherin' about Matt! He's nice! And Funny with all CAPS FUN! I loved his impression of his brother last week!
@ariagain Have not idea what you are referring too. Maybe it is you who should think twice and/or communicate better.
@talmquist How much is Altman paying you to defend him?
@taniasveta Yes she works for Mauricio now. And I'm so glad to see more people sticking up for Josh like I do, although everyone wants to think that we are "in love " with him and I've even been accused of being Heather over and over LOL. So stupid !! They just cannot stand that they don't like him and we like him alot, and that's killing them..... they want everyone to hate him. All these "unethical" things that he does that everyone talks about--yet no one ever lists any of them. They tried to say that him not telling Marisa about tearing the house down was unethical but it was his job NOT to tell her. The haters just cannot stand his confidence and how well he does in this business. The great thing is---Josh doesn't need this show. I'm glad he's doing it and it lets us get a glimpse of how it works and all the fabulous houses--but when this show is over, he will still be making money and doing what he does best.......... selling the dream.
@taniasveta @leenelvis OMG, I so agree. Madison was his own worst enemy in that scenario. Heather is the victor but she is so nice she does not lord it over Madison. Someone much smarter than me at BRAVO sees something in him he is on the show.
It was said that Heather works for Mauricio and I hope that is true, I like him. But I did hear something to the contrary. Hope it is NOT true.
Nothing, I am not defending him and I think his tactics with Marissa about the sale of her mother in law's home were vile. What I am saying it that Madison eats it everytime during negotiations. He always caves and never fights to get the other agents up in price for his clients. Case in point the Malibu home he was supposed to sell, he got a tragic lease which the owner will have to pay taxes on. Josh Altman is a shark but unfortunately, all real estate is based on results. I may morally dislike Josh but he delivers. Let's put it this way, would you trust Madison to get you the best price on your home?
@Hogan What did you hear Hogan? I wanna know ! LOL
they make a beautiful couple, no question!
@shysharon All I'm saying Shysharon is that it's funny that she tried and tried to get him to expand, and he refused, yet right after she left---he does just that...............expands just like she had been suggesting all along. I guess he had to feel like it was "his idea".......... OK.
@Glimmer88 If I going to make a move into another area, considering the traffic to make appts. etc, it would take some planning and additional staff...not my asst saying she wanted to do it. She was free to do it, but she was employed by him, not the broker...just like Josh and his brother are planning a partnership.
@shysharon It's funny how right after he fired her, he does the very thing that she was trying to get him to do--expand his business. Oh and also he had to hire triple the staff to do her job. What a laugh.........
@leenelvisumm...heather had the right to move on but not to poach contacts from Madison that he spent years cultivating. She needed to build her client list up from scratch on her own if she wanted to branch out on her own. She's not only deceitful but she is in desperate need of a nose job.
@shysharon @taniasveta @leenelvis What show were you watching. I had the sense that Madison was ready to give in to Heather going to Bev Hills, however, when she started seeing Josh it all blew up and he was a petulant child about it. His own worst enemy, as Josh has said - and he is right. AND, Heather is not just seeing Josh Altman, it is love and it was obvious from the beginning. THAT should have meant something to her dear friend Madison and it didn't. He is an ass.
@shysharon @leenelvis She was a broker before Madison hired her. SO, she had the right to move on with her personal life and her career. madison lost a great employee. Whatever the situation was...madison acted like a sleeze bal firing her over false accusations that we all saw filmed. Madison did not act like a mensch and brutally kicked her out as if something bad happened to him. The only bad thing that happened is that her lost commission on the property Heather worked so had to get listing for. You cannot argue obvious. Madison literally kicked her with his foot out the door accusing her of things she did not do. madison is paranoid and self-absorbed.
@talmquist @UpperEastSider Madison, heck no! And by the way, Marissa is no dumby. Come on, a one bedroom mansion. Pahleez! She knew Josh got a great deal for her. The bricks from England were a dream of the grandparents and they got to live with them and enjoy, no one cares about the love someone puts in to their home, they respect it - but they want their own dream when they purchase. Josh did very well for Marissa for a piece of property and she knows it!
I'm not defending Josh nor would I hire Josh nor any of the realtors on a reality show. The only comment I made is that out of the three realtors on this show, Josh tends to be better at negotiating than Madison. Madison tends to be better at projecting his Malibu lifestyle and bickering with Heather who is absolutely no threat to his business. I think most people are not as lucky as you are in today's economy and they do need their realtors to get them top dollar out of their homes, especially in Los Angeles.
@talmquist @UpperEastSider I could handle not getting top dollar for my home (which I realize is not multi-million dollar real estate). I would not hire someone like Josh. He is slimy and I firmly believe that if you lie with dogs, you get fleas. I'm unwilling to lie, cheat and steal for a few more dollars. But feel free to live your life the Josh Altman way.
