How to Holiday

If Your Dog Could Talk, This Is What He'd Be Asking for This Holiday Season

Because duh! He wants to be part of the holiday gift exchange too!

I recently got a new puppy and I have to say it has taken a lot of restraint — A LOT! — to keep from buying him new toys and treats every day. There are so many adorable and inventive options out there nowadays. But with the holiday season upon us, I feel like I can let down my guard and indulge my desire to pick up a few extra things for my pooch. If it makes me happy, hopefully it will make him happy and — maybe more importantly — it will keep him entertained while his human family members "ooh" and "aah" over our gifts.

So as you are making your holiday gift list, don’t forget to include your four-legged friends. Whether you’re thinking about delighting him with some new treats, a new toy or a cozy bed, here's a selection of great gifts to please even the most particular pooch.

Pawsitively Gourmet Doughnut Cookies for Dogs

These donut-shaped treats are made with sweet potatoes — so they’re adorable and nutritious! There are 20 in the pack.

Modern Pet Bed

Your dog will be sleeping in style in this contemporary bed with stainless steel legs and a washable velvet cushion. It’s about 30 inches wide, 18 inches deep and 19 inches high. And will look great in your house!

Alligator Dog Collar

For the dog who has everything, this alligator-leather collar in either black or brown can be personalized with up to 12 characters and spaces.

Rock 'N Bowl

You may tell your human family members not to play with their food, but for dogs it can be a great way to ensure they don’t inhale their meal in one gulp. Pour dry food in the top and then watch as your dog nudges the bowl to force the kibbles to drop through the holes in the paw print and out the bottom.

H2O4K9 Water Bottle

For those times when you take your dog on long walks, road trips, or really any sort of excursion, he'll never be without fresh water with this stainless steel bottle that has lid that doubles as a water bowl. The 9.5-ounce bottle fits into car cup holders, backpacks, strollers, and more.

Jonathan Adler Dog Bowls

When just any old dog bowl won’t do, this acrylic and brass combination from Jonathan Adler adds a touch of glamour to meal time. The holder is about 12 inches long and six inches wide and comes with two metal bowls.

iFetch

If your dog loves to play fetch, he’ll love this automatic tennis ball launcher (and your arm will thank you). Set the launch distance to either 10, 20, or 30 feet, and watch as your dog chases the ball and then brings it back to drop in the top of the machine for endless fun. This runs on an AC adapter (included) or batteries and comes with three miniature tennis balls.

Smooches Cookie Treats

These grain-free, bite-size treats are made from free-range chicken and nutritious cranberries.

Wine Barrel Dog Feeder

Add a rustic artisan touch to mealtime with this handmade dog feeder that’s made from a recycled wine barrel. The small is 22 inches long, 11 inches wide, and 6 inches tall. The large is 26 inches long, 13 inches wide, and 10 inches tall. Both come with two stainless steel bowls.

Kong Wild Knots Bear Dog Toy

Kong is known for making durable toys that dogs love to chew. This one has a knotted rope inside it so your dog can satisfy his need to chew. It comes in two sizes.
