Bravotv.com: Brig was by herself. Did you know people didn't like her at the time of the show?
She's so irritating that the whole time, at the back of my mind, I thought the viewers would be so irritated by her. However, in this challenge, she got very professional and somewhat quiet. Especially at one point, she very quickly changed the look. She got it together in a moment's notice. There couldn't have been anymore of a real situation then what Brig went through. When you're on any photo shoot, that's just part of it. You're on the set, you have the hair, they're shooting it, and all of the sudden the photographer says, "Can you do me a favor and just change this and take the hair down after you've spent hours putting it up? Can you just take it down on one side and leave it up on the other? Let me just see how that looks." Your first thought when you're new is, "No way, I'm going to have a heart attack. I have no idea how to do that with everyone watching me and with this much money on the line. They're going to hate me." When you have experience it's like no big deal, but you're still thinking in the back of your mind that you're going to have a heart attack. You just do it because it's part of the job. Whether she was freaking out or not, she just did it. She set no roadblocks up in front of herself and went right in to the hair and changed it. By the way, it even looked better. I was totally impressed. She silenced me for a good couple of minutes. I had nothing bad to say about her, other than she's painful to watch at times. Other than that I really liked it.
I usually get a perm about once a year, maybe 1 1/2 years at times. My perms usually last a very long time. The last time I got a perm the bell rang but the stylist didn't take care of me for at least 10 or 15 minutes later. For the first time in my life I got a really bad perm and got a frizz head.I was so disgusted and tried to buy products to fix it myself. It took a few months and then it got looking ok but not great. What could the stylist have done to make it better right away?Anything?I would appreciate your opinion.Thanks......
love ya jonathan! i agree, you should be on more, but you've got a family and a business so you can only do so much, family first!
Johnathan,
It was so nice to see you Are back on Bravo. Like the others I too wish your role in the show was bigger. You are so talented and have so much in you to teach others. Do you have a mentoring aspect of your business? Baltimore is missing you! We need stylists that realy Know hair. Especially naturaly curly hair!!!!!!! Wish you were here.
It is fantabulous that you are back on Bravo! I miss your show Blow Out, and being " hair styling challenged" myself, miss re-winding, and watching your skills! I have been telling people for years that if I ever win the lottery, my 32 inches of long hair is getting an appointment with you, the master! I love your attention to detail, and also not putting up with any bull. As you can tell, I think you are the greatest, and delighted that you don't insist that everyone cut their hair short, butloves to add sex appeal, and easy leaves the client feeling great about their hair. You are a professional, no two ways around it. Thank you for being you!
I agree with most things said in the extension challenge. I do them all the time and extensions are hard work and detailed. There were some people who missed the mark but then again. I usually do wemon so who am i to jugde:) www.kristinaraeleen.com.
Jonathan, I would like to know where your located so you can cut my hair. I like the way you act and you know what your talking about. I love watching you on the shows.
I'm not the biggest fan of this season. Jonathan was ok oh his show on Blow Out...but that show didn't come back and possibly for a good reason. I can understand the level of attitude that you have to exude at times in business, but not everyday. The attitude coming from the contestants...is expected. It makes you wonder if any of the eliminations become personal. I loved that Tabitha was a judge on the show. I would have liked to seen her visited Jonathan on Blow Out and assessed his business then. Maybe a little bit of that over the top ego would have made for a good watch.
I don't think the judging this season has been impartial, it's clear that 2 of the contestants can "do no wrong" no matter what. I have enjoyed this show up till this season. I have really been disappointed because of the comments and the behaviour of two of the contestants who act like they're in intermediate school and the support from the judges when they perform poorly makes it clear that the season has already been decided!
I just watched the show after a few seasons of pause. Jonathan over the top critique to Brig was just plain distasteful and it convinced me that this show is worthless. There is absolutely no excuse to potty mouth comment, Jonathan. No matter how bad the stylists work is, nothing matches an undignified critique. Your ego has more volume that any of the hairdos I have seen on the show.
Could be such a great show ..but it isn't. I want to see the talent not the idiotic drama! The judges don't help with thier own over blown ego's and a hostess that seems deadpan and cold. PLEASE GET RID OF THE HIGH SCHOOL BULLY TYPES! This is not competion it's high school! Let the talent be the driving force and tone down the drama.
This was my last viewing of "Shear Stupidity". Who judges the judges??? How could these overapid so-called experts have elimiated Brian and not Brig? What were they thinking???? There were four of us watching the show and all in total disbelief. Anti-New York bias perhaps? who knows? who cares? In any event, good luck with the show, but you just lost this viewer and several others. Maybe it's time for new judges to be calling the shots on "Shear Nonsense".
Love Jonathan! Glad he's back on Bravo. Would like his show to come back. I wish I could use his products (I'm Black) but I can't. Any feedback he gives on Shear Genius should be noted. He's the bomb in hair styling!
Jonathon :
After reading some or most of the blogs I have decided that those who have never entered a compatition really don't know what judges are lookjing for. I myself think you are a good judge you have been there. I have entered 16 contest in a matter of 10 years, and I see what you are looking for. Keep up the good work. Sometimes hairdressers who work in salons think they no everthing but guess what I learn a lot from just watching your show and the comments. Thanks for a good show and the knowledge Ruth -from TN.

I wish that Jonathan had a bigger role in mentoring these poeple during the contests.I was soooo happy to see him back on Bravo!Give us more Jonathan!!!!
