It was a long week for me at Salon Deco. Kim frustrated the hell out of me. I walked out and seriously didn't want to go back, but I had an issue -- I really liked the staff, and I also liked and felt for Kim's husband, Eric.
I found Kim's laid back attitude and excuses infuriating and frustrating in light of the fact that her business was falling apart, her house was in foreclosure, her husband was stressed to the max, and her staff felt abandoned. I truly did feel more invested in saving Kim's business than Kim herself.
Tabatha, you amaze me. I love this show! If you are looking for disfunction I would love to see you take over a school board (just a thought). You are class all the way. Thanks for making viewers like me want to be more no-nonsense.
I hated last nights episode I really do not care for Tabitha's management style it would never fly in the real world!!!!! This lady Kim was heart broken to leave her children and was waiting for her husband to step and become the bread winner- something Tabitha would never understand!!! Instead she pushed her so hard- does the husband help with the kids??? what has this world come to- women have to make the money, keep house and balance children by keeping them in daycare all day!!!! So sad!!!!!!
I hope that only positive comments are not are put on this blog- Tabitha has good busines sense, but her management style is too harsh and direct and that is what sells TV!! Do you know how hard managers work to refine the way they interact with empoyees and impower them?? I see her breaking everyone down!!! Please less of Tabititha and her dinosaur/stoic management style !!!!
I think the reason that Kim succeeded is that her husband and Tabatha made her see that saving her business IS about being a good Mom..
We women often beat ourselves up if we are there for every little burp and diaper change, and I happened to be able to stay home with my kids, but that just isnt the case for a lot of Americans who need 2 decent incomes to pay for the cost of living in some sections of the country..
Kim actually looked a lot happier, working and knowing that she was helping to dig her family out of a bad situation, instead of letting the tide take her and her family out to sea... Luckily for Kim, she was really the only problem in her business, so as soon as she got it in gear, her situation turned around quickly.
Bought your book and it was an amazing read...You re-enforced some really valuable life lessons...Thank you.
I think Tabatha tells business owners what they want to hear... the truth. She breaks through their fear and shows them a way out. On top of that, the redecorating is renewing and grounds the change. I always feel like doing better in my business after I watch her show. A challenge for Tabatha would be to "take-over" a day care center. Wouldn't it be funny watching a dozen little children, with their grubby little hands, trying to hug her!!!!
I 100% agree with WAVeiwer and vote that Tabiha take over a Day Care!
Short little whiney people, all sugared up-wanting to hug her!!!!!!! -that might be the last we see of Tabitha all though a hilarious Idea. We want to keep her safe and sane!
Hi Tabatha, Salon Deco is no longer a secret LOL!!!. If you would have told kim that the sky is falling she would have said, yeah I see that okay. what is wrong with this girl? LOL!!!. can't believe this season is over already can't wait for the finale. great job and I hope to see you on season 4.
In response to O.C.Mom - what part of the show did you not see? The part where the husband gave up his 401K for his wife to have a business? The part where he was talking about his job? The part where he mentioned his one child would be starting kindergarten? The part where he said they could put the youngest child in daycare so she could have the business that SHE wanted? Pay attention - the husband does work and the wife played at owning a businesss.
@O.C.Mom Honestly woman you sound like an idiot, you had a problem with Tabathas methods and not with the idiotic head in the sand, selfish and childish attitude of Kim??? Tabatha doesn't have a failing business KIM does and she was completely in denial about it, not only did Tabatha WAKE HER UP with common sense but now Kim is succeeding because of Tabatha, how does that make Tabatha s methods wrong, I would say she was 100% successful, your comments gobsmacked me with how stupid and off beam they were, are you one of the housewives of the O.C. ? It certainly sounds like it
Please step in and take over the US Congress asap! They could really use your help. (SERIOUSLY)
Tabatha, First I have to tell you something that cracks me up everytime I see it. I am watching the episode with Barkingham Palace, that Tanya drove me crazy! I laugh because of the way you said that she is a "coo-coo bird" and the way you said "Tanya is a MESS!" I feel sorry for her wife because she has to deal with that behavior all day, every day. Anyway, Kim was a piece of work. I was tired of hearing her say "anyways." She needed someone like you to wake her up to reality because she obviously did not have a clue and did not give a damn! And to (O.C. Mom)- did you watch the show because what you wrote makes no sense at all and another thing--learn to spell Tabatha's name (there is no i) the word business has 2 s's at the end and the word is empower not impower! Look people if you are going to write something where other people are going to see, at least learn how to spell. Tabatha, I think you are great, you say it like it is and you don't take any crap from anyone! I love it. I look forward to seeing tonight's season finale but I am sad that the season is over already. I hope you will be back for another season because I like watching the way you handle all types of people. You are not intimidated by anyone-I think it's great. Thanks for another great season and I hope you have a great summer. I hope it's not a very hot and humid one for those of us who live in NJ but I have a feeling with the way things are going, it's going to be a LONG,HOT,HUMID,DISGUSTING SUMMER!!!
