Andy Cohen is Going to Be a Father!

Andy Cohen kicked off 2019 with a huge announcement. Following the news that the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host is expecting his first child via surrogate, he revealed the gender of his baby while hosting CNN's New Year's Eve coverage with Anderson Cooper.

How to Watch

Tune in to WWHL on Bravo Sunday through Thursday and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

And Andy will soon be welcoming a son. “It’s a boy. It’s a boy,” he announced during the telecast. “It’s a boy and I got to tell you something, I cannot wait to meet this boy.”

Andy went on to reflect on his journey to becoming a father with his BFF Anderson. "When I was growing up and when we were growing up … I just never thought it would be possible as a gay man to grow up and have a family. And then here we are in 2018, almost [2019], and anything’s possible. And I’m so grateful to a wonderful surrogate that I’m working with," he shared. "By the way, by the time it became possible, I was kind of having too much fun in my life to say, ‘I don’t think I can do this right now.’ But here I am, I turned 50 this year. It takes some people longer to get to that place. And it took me that time.”

With about a month to go before he welcomes his son, Andy sounds more than ready to bring home baby. "I have all the gear. I'm getting the gear," he said. "Everyone's given me wonderful advice. I have a lot of great women in my life."

Andy first announced his baby news during the O Come OG Faithful special episode of WWHL on December 20. "Throughout it, I've always tried to be as transparent as possible about my life. I overshare and I expect everyone around me to do the same and tonight I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science, if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks time, I'm going to become a father thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future," he shared. "Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something I've wanted in my heart for my entire life and while it has taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be my most rewarding chapter yet."

Relive that special moment above, and then come back down here for more Andy and Anderson.
