Here's Where Kevin Dobson Really Went Wrong with That Penis Cake, According to Charter Guest Jemele Hill
The Below Deck charter guest had "a piece of feedback" for the Season 7 chef.
Kevin Dobson's penis cake was certainly a showstopper in the January 27 episode of Below Deck — but not in the way that he hoped.
The chef's excitement and enthusiasm over the phallic dessert was quickly cut short when he realized the primary charter guest who had requested the cake, Jemele Hill, had gone to bed before it was served. The other charter guests who were still at the table immediately dropped their jaws after Kevin's presentation, making for an awkward end to the dinner.
We'll find out more about what the charter guests really thought about Kevin's penis cake in the Below Deck Season 7 finale airing Monday, February 3 at 8/7c. However, we can already tell from the preview of the next episode that there's going to be a lot of confusion surrounding the cake.
But Kevin actually could have saved the moment from being too uncomfortable, according to Jemele. "The number one thing that the rest of my friends had a problem with is, it's like you dropped it and you didn't explain anything," she said during her January 27 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (clip below). "Had you explained it, it might have gone better. So that was a piece of feedback I got from everybody."
Jemele also said that she "was really stunned" after finding out that Kate Chastain had a hand in this. "I didn't know that basically you got set up, dude. I don't even know how to make this right or whatever. I'm sorry I wasn't there for the penis cake," Jemele told Kevin, who was her fellow guest in the Clubhouse on WWHL. "I didn't know there was something larger at play that apparently horrified the rest of my charter."
We could tell that Kevin was not pleased with Kate's prank during the charter season. However, he seems to have a better sense of humor about the whole thing now. "I kind of walked into it, didn't I? I had been upsetting her all day, and she got me then," he said on WWHL. "It was kind of perfect."
