The Real Housewives of Dallas cast member shared a photo of herself and Mama Dee looking radiant with big smiles on their faces as they recuperate from their recent procedures. "We’re making progress and we can finally stand up on our two feet again!" D'Andra captioned the photo posted on March 11. "[Mama Dee] and I have matching bedazzled walking canes to make fully recovering from our ankle surgeries a little more 'glamorous' and enjoyable!"

D'Andra ended the post by sharing how thankful she is for her health and for her mom, who celebrated her 80th birthday in February. "Who needs a matching outfit or purse when you have your health and happiness!" D'Andra shared in the post. "Love you, Momma!"

Another member of the family has also helped D'Andra on her road to recovery: her Brussels Griffon Ruby Rose, whom she welcomed around Christmastime last year. "She will be keeping me company as I heal from my ankle replacement and foot surgery," D'Andra gushed about her new furry friend on Instagram in December. "Ruby truly couldn’t have come at a better time in my life!"

D'Andra later showed in another Instagram post that she spent Christmas with her leg in a cast. It was shortly after that that D'Andra was hospitalized for a few days after testing positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) in late December.

D'Andra opened up more about her ankle surgery during an interview with NECN in late January. "I had a full ankle replacement right before Christmas, and then I had contracted COVID about three days later. So, full ankle replacement, I had a toe replacement, foot repair," she shared. "It was a big, major surgery."

Unfortunately, those were not the only health issues D'Andra experienced over the last several months. "In the meantime, I also injured my other foot because I sprained it hopping around because I only have one foot," she told NECN. "We have this ledge in the shower, and I hopped over it and slid, and that was the end of that. So now I'm in two boots. I'm in one boot and a cast on the other foot."

D'Andra also revealed that Mama Dee has a funny way of describing her daughter's clumsiness. "My mother has always called me 'an accident going somewhere to happen,'" D'Andra said. "So, she's absolutely right [laughs]."
