Erika Jayne Reflects on the Passing of Her Dog, Tiago: "I Don’t Know of a Better Friend"
The Bet It All on Blonde star shared new details about her bond with her late dog and revealed if she will ever get a new pet.
Erika Jayne is opening up about her late dog, Tiago, like never before.
As fans may recall, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member shared a tightknit bond with her pet which we got to see every once in a while on the show. In a past sit-down with BravoTV.com (clip above), Erika explained she got Tiago to fill the "hole" in her home life.
Since then, the dynamic duo has basically been inseparable, as the Dutch Shephard even moved into Erika’s current Los Angeles home after separating from her ex, Tom Girardi. Unfortunately, in October 2023, Erika announced that she had to say goodbye to her four-legged companion.
"I had to euthanize Tiago two weeks ago," Erika told PEOPLE at the time. I had to put my dog to sleep. It's just been really sad for me, and it's been tough." She also called the dog: "the best friend a girl could have."
More recently, Erika reflected on the loss of her former dog and even hinted at the possibility of her welcoming a new addition into her life soon.

On the special two-part documentary, Erika Jayne: Bet It All on Blonde, which aired on March 6, it was revealed that Tiago had passed away one month after the “XXPEN$IVE” singer’s opening night of her Las Vegas residency.
During the episode, Erika reminisced about how Tiago became a part of her family. “So, my old house in Pasadena was burglarized several times, and Tom did not like dogs [be]cause he was a paper boy and had gotten bit on his paper route repeatedly,” she said.
Erika went on to share that Tom eventually “broke down” and allowed her to get the dog. In the end, Erika noted, “Tiago… he’s my best friend... I don’t know of a better friend.
Is Erika Jayne open to getting another pet? She says…
Although it’s only been five months since Tiago’s passing, Erika is open to getting a new pet. However, it must come at the “right time,” which she revealed during a recent chat with The Daily Dish.
“I think that I certainly miss Tiago,” she said, adding, “I still promise you, I hear him in this home from time to time, but the timing has to be right and the dog has to be right.”
Erika concluded: “It has to be the perfect match. No one could ever fill Tiago's shoes and that's not the point, but I think the right dog will come at the right time."
