The two actresses will walk the red carpet arm-in-arm, but don't expect them to "twirl around."

Reese Witherspoon has friends in high places. Not only is she working on a new TV series with Jennifer Aniston — the Big Little Lies star is also close with Eva Longoria. The actresses are so tight, in fact, that they'll be each other's dates at the Golden Globe Awards on January 7.

But, this won't be any kind of BFF date night. The two friends decided they will attend the ceremony together as a statement of support for Time's Up. The initiative, which is backed by hundreds of A-list actresses, aims to support equality and safety in Hollywood and blue-collar workplaces nationwide.

When the initiative launched on January 1, Witherspoon was among the many famous faces to post about it. On Twitter, the actress shared how proud she is to be part of the powerful group of women backing the movement. She also thanked The New York Times for its detailed piece on Time's Up.

Witherspoon also took to Instagram to spread awareness about the movement. "I stand with ALL WOMEN across every industry to say #TIMESUP on abuse, harassment, marginalization and underrepresentation," the equal-rights advocate wrote.

Longoria, who's equally passionate about the cause, used her social media platform to spread awareness about Time's Up as well.

By urging actresses to wear black at the upcoming Golden Globes cermony, Time's Up will use the highly visible event as another platform for spreading awareness. “This is a moment of solidarity, not a fashion moment,” Longoria told The New York Times“For years, we’ve sold these awards shows as women, with our gowns and colors and our beautiful faces and our glamour. This time the industry can’t expect us to go up and twirl around. That’s not what this moment is about.”

Instead, this moment is about sisterhood and women having each other's backs. And by attending the ceremony together, Longoria and Witherspoon are doing just that.

This sounds like our kind of ladies night!
