Does Jeff Lewis Have Plans to Give Monroe a Sibling and Welcome Baby No. 2? He Says…
The Flipping Out designer, who welcomed his first child, Monroe, in 2016, talked about his future plans on WWHL.
Jeff Lewis appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Wednesday, December 7, and gave an update on his family’s future.
Asked by a fan if he intends to use his last remaining frozen embryo to give his 6-year-old daughter Monroe — who he shares with ex Gage Edward — a little brother or sister, Jeff responded, “I may. We’ll see what happens.”
One thing holding the designer back? “I look very young, but I’m getting older.”
The surrogacy process itself can be frustrating as well. The 52-year-old Flipping Out designer has always been open about his journey, and most recently revealed in March that “Embryo No. 9, Jeff Junior, did not make it.”
“It was very, very disappointing,” Jeff said on his SiriusXM show, explaining that he had been “100 percent convinced” that his attempt at having a second child via surrogate was going to happen. “I was stunned because I was just so committed,” he added. “Like, this was happening.”
But when it didn’t, Jeff was left with just one embryo. On top of that, his doctor said there’s “only a 45 percent chance” of it taking. “So I had to come to the realization this weekend that Monroe just might be it, you know?” he said in March. But it was hard.
By July, he was in better spirits. Telling People that he’s “always wanted to have more than one kid,” he noted, “I feel like if I’m going to do this, I need to do it soon.”
“I really am fulfilled being a parent,” Jeff continued. “Like, much more fulfilling than anything I’ve ever done. And I get so much joy out of just even the little things with her.”
Added the Jeff Lewis Live host, “Just knowing how happy I am with one, that’s kinda why I want two.”
