Jessica Simpson Is Plotting a Musical Comeback in Her Signature Daisy Dukes

Break out your favorite pair of Daisy Dukes because Jessica Simpson is back to her old tricks. After a multi-year hiatus from singing, the fashion designer and mother of two is ready to get behind the mic once again. And, yes, that means she's officially back in the studio — and she's even rocking a look that will bring you all the way back to 2005, whether you'd like to go back there or not.
Jessica has been spending a lot more time in the studio lately, inching her way closer to a new album release (her first since 2010's holiday album, Happy Christmas). And, she's definitely been keeping her studio look on the sexy side — meaning she's left the mom jeans at home.
Prepare for even more Jessica this summer. On August 26, she'll perform on TV for the first time years when she takes the stage for Today's Summer Concert Series. Not that she's been keeping a low profile during her musical hiatus. When she's not chasing around her kids, Maxwell and Ace, or hanging with husband Eric Johnson, she's sitting atop quite the empire — which includes TV (including the reality-based series The Price of Beauty and Fashion Star), a $1 billion (YES, BILLION) clothing brand, and, of course, her turn as a spokeswoman for both Weight Watchers (no tuna were harmed in the making) and Budget cars, naturally.
