Kate Chastain Just Made a Major Decision About Her Son: "It's Time"
The Below Deck alum is ready for her son, Sullivan Cay, to start "contributing" to their household.
Kate Chastain’s son, Sullivan Cay, is gearing up to take on some big responsibilities – sort of. ICYMI, on May 3, the Below Deck alum celebrated her little boy’s first birthday, marking an end to his infant phase. Now that Sullivan is officially a toddler, Kate joked she is ready for her mini-me to fully embrace his new age by providing some contributions around their Florida home by doing some chores.

Taking to her Instagram Story on May 13, the first-time mom posted an adorable video of Sullivan sitting in his highchair. While hanging out in the comfy seat, the one-year-old was putting his free time to good use as he playfully cleaned off his tray using a blue sponge.
“Yeah, good job!” Kate cheerfully told Sullivan as he grabbed the sponge and grinned at her. “Keep going, good job. Yay, do it some more. Yay!”

Kate was thoroughly impressed with Sullivan's cleaning skills, while he seemed to be having a great time tidying up his mealtime area. Kate wrote over the quick clip: “Now that he’s 1 year old it’s time he starts contributing to this household.”
Kate Chastain reflects on her first year as a mom
In honor of Sullivan’s recent birthday milestone, Kate recently took a trip down memory lane to reflect on her time as a single mom. On May 3, Kate shared a video montage highlighting some precious moments of her sweet boy from over the past year.
The opening clip showed Sullivan sitting on his mother’s lap as he was given a birthday cupcake with a candle on top. Kate then leaned into the dessert and helped her boy in blowing out the candle.
“My debut album titled ‘First year as a mom’ includes the hit songs: ‘what’s the matter with the baby,’ ‘shut your eyes and shut your mouth,’ and ‘I thought I’d be a cool mom…’” Kate captioned the video.
For Sullivan’s special day, the birthday boy donned a tiny white tuxedo shirt and a pair of black pants. Unfortunately, his outfit was ruined soon after the festivities began when it got stained from all the sweet treats he devoured.
