Scheana Shay Says Her Marital Issues Caused Her "Tacky" Behavior with Katie's Bridal Shower
"I was at a breaking point with so many things this past summer," the #PumpRules SURver revealed.
Scheana Shay got a lot of flack from some of the Vanderpump Rules ladies and fans alike after she expressed her concern over the cost of Katie Maloney-Schwartz's bridal shower. And Scheana is owning up to her mistakes now.
As Scheana recently shared on Twitter, she acknowledged that it was wrong of her to complain about the cost of the bridal shower to the bride herself. "It was tacky. I shouldn't have brought it up to Katie," she said during a recent interview with SiriusXM's Conversations with Maria Menounos. "We were in a conversation. It was just kind of like word vomit."
But Scheana said that she still finds the cost of the event completely outrageous. "I'm sorry, a three-hour bridal shower should not cost three grand. That's insane to me. Like, that's just crazy. And to think we're going to split it three ways because we make more money out of the bridesmaids, that's also not fair. I didn't agree to that," Scheana said. "I could have also gotten us a beautiful house for free. We could have had it at a gorgeous patio in a restaurant for free. So it was frustrating to me."
Scheana went on to explain that she got even more upset because she was experiencing financial issues with her ex, Mike Shay, at the time. "I never meant to get Katie involved in that. It was very tacky. I agree with everyone who tweeted me about that. It was just I was at a breaking point with so many things this past summer, and a lot of things just came out wrong," she said. "He's running up my credit card bills and taking money out of our savings account and all of this. So I'm like, I can't afford to spend thousands of dollars on a bridal shower when my husband's already taking it from me."
The SURver revealed on Twitter that she has since apologized to Katie for her behavior.
