Kim Richards' "Heart Ached" for Her Kids After Arrest

"I felt terrible and I didn't know how to tell them," she reveals.

By Jocelyn Vena

Kim Richards of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is addressing what the aftermath of her April arrest has been like since she was charged with three misdemeanors (public intoxication, resisting arrest, and battery upon an officer). Kim, who entered rehab shortly following the incident at the Beverly Hills Hotel, admits it was her children who she had on her mind after the incident went public earlier this spring. "My heart ached for my children," she told Entertianment Tonight. "I felt terrible and I didn't know how to tell them. I think the phone rang and it was Brooke, and I said, 'Hello,' and she said, 'Hi, so you got arrested?' I said, 'Yeah,' and she said, 'I'm just glad you're OK, Mommy. I love you.'"

Kim has been sober for more than 30 days, according to a previous report, and has completed a treatment program. While she attended her daughter Brooke Brinson's wedding in May, she missed her niece Nicky Hilton's ceremony earlier this month because she "decided to stay in treatment." She now reveals what she is doing in her recovery since leaving a treatment center. Currently there is a team around her, including her psychiatrist, life coach, and a "wonderful sponsor," as well as an acupuncturist, trainer, and chiropractor. However, prior to going to the treatment center, her life coach and psychiatrist told her she didn't need to go to rehab. "They just said you don't need to. [My doctor] said come see me three times a week, go to your meetings," she added. "You don't need to go... They all said just go to your meeting.'"
