The Daily Dish Life After Bravo

Lilly Ghalichi Still Floored By Love from Kylie Jenner and Lady Gaga Over Her Glamorous Lashes

The #Shahs alum with a growing beauty empire chats all about her life after Bravo.

By Jocelyn Vena

When Lilly Ghalichi exited Shahs of Sunset in 2014 to focus on her bustling beauty and fashion brands, she had no clue that her Lilly Lashes line of false eyelashes would become the go-to brand for celebrities within months of its launch. Well, she had a little inkling they might be get some attention.

How to Watch

Catch up on Shahs of Sunset on the Bravo App.

"Lashes consume so much of your glam time when you do outrageous looks. For an everyday girl, we just don't have that kind of time, and we don't have the skill that these makeup artists have to create these lash looks. I knew that they would be popular because it makes this available to every girl and quickly," she told The Daily Dish. "But I didn't imagine in my wildest dreams it would become this popular this quickly, to where I have Kylie Jenner asking me for the lashes, Kim Kardashian, [and] Lady Gaga. We launched them May 1, so it's barely been six months."

And, yes, hearing that Mother Monster wants to rock your product is definitely a milestone — one only eclipsed by the youngest Jenner sister. "I would say Lady Gaga [was a cool moment]. It was an email that was very surprising for me, mostly because she's just like a superstar that's a whole other level, but I would say the most rewarding was when my makeup artist that does the Kardashians and the Jenners told me that Kylie said they were her favorite lashes... To me Kylie Jenner is the epitome of today's glam era. She's young. She's fresh. She's edgy. She's glamorous, but she still keeps that fresh, sexy vibe to her look. I think she's the future of glam so to have who I idolize as my current glam icon say that my 3D lashes are her favorite lashes was definitely the most rewarding moment for me."

But Lilly is still holding out for another celebrity to jump on the bandwagon: Jennifer Lopez. "I think she's such a classic beauty. She is such a timeless glam icon," she said. "She's one of the pioneers of glam, in my opinion, because she had that J.Lo glow. So I would love, love to see them on J.Lo."

With her lash line already a staple with A-listers, Lilly hopes to continue to bring her glam girl philosophy to the masses with her Want My Look clothing brand. "[It's] kind of my baby right now because unlike my other brands it's my only company that needs constant everyday new products," she said. "With clothing, we need new styles every single day, so we're going really in a new direction with that label. We used to be a lot sexier, a lot younger. We're getting a little more sophisticated, a little more fashion forward and [looking to] branch off into men's fashion in general. We started [with] shoes. We basically look at celebrities, see what kind of shoes they're wearing, see what kinds of clothes they're wearing, and do our best to replicate their look and make it available for much less."

And that's something fundamental for the former Shah. "I think it's important that I make it accessible at an affordable price because I grew up with not a lot of money," she said. "I want to be able to provide products that girls that may look up to me, or may look up to other celebrities that have a similar look to me, will be able to actually afford. So it is definitely very, very important to me. It has to be genuine and your heart has to be behind it."

It's been about a year since she announced her departure from Shahs, and Lilly admits that she's definitely been able to focus more on her growing empire since parting ways with the series. "Shahs was great. I had a blast," she said. "It was such a life experience, but I would say that my life outside of the show is a lot more work because I have more free time and more positive energy that I can channel and focus in my work. I would say not being on the show is a lot more peaceful and allows me the ability to really focus on my brand."

But she still keeps in touch with her pals from the show. "I still talk to a lot of people on the show," she said. "Or I'll run into them casually at events or restaurants, and I'll get a little bit of the gossip here and there. I get little bits, but I definitely don't keep up with the drama."

Months after leaving Shahs, Lilly confirmed that she ended her engagement with Dhar Mann. And, Lilly remains single and ready to mingle. "I am dating. You know, it's a tough market in Los Angeles with men," she said. "[In L.A.] no one ever gets married. You're just perpetually dating. I am dating. I am dabbling, but nobody serious or nobody worth mentioning, I suppose."
