Andy Cohen Explains Why He Almost Walked Off During the RHONJ Season 13 Reunion
The Watch What Happens Live host said he “lost” it in a way like never before.
According to Andy Cohen, The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13 reunion will be “very compelling television.”
The Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host revealed as much on the April 24 episode of his SiriusXM show, Radio Andy. Previewing some of the drama to come from Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Jennifer Aydin, Margaret Josephs, Dolores Catania, Danielle Cabral, and Rachel Fuda, he said, “There were a ton of new allegations being made. There was a lot of new material to get into, which was good, so we didn’t spend a ton of time rehashing the past. We leaned into a lot of the new stuff.”
Andy didn’t go into detail or share specifics, but he did tease a historic amount of tension between Teresa and Melissa. “I’ve got to tell you, the level — I won’t even say vitriol, I will just say hate — between Teresa and Melissa, it’s… I mean, the gloves are off. I’ve never seen anything like it,” Andy explained. “And the way the two of them were going back and forth, it was that thing of neither wanted the other to have the last word in any petty fight.”
Things got so intense that Andy “almost walked off at one point,” he added. “By the time I was going to, I was just so annoyed.”
And Teresa apparently bore the brunt of his annoyance. As Andy recalled, “There was a moment where I turned to Teresa — I apologized to her later — [and] I didn’t yell at her, but I think I lost my s--t with her in a way that I haven’t maybe ever.”
All in all, the reunion taping lasted roughly 10 hours. However, Andy explained that he didn’t begin processing everything until he randomly woke up at 3:30 in the morning. “It was just all playing in my head,” he recalled. “It was too monumental and upsetting… I had to let it sit.”
