Sutton Stracke Offers New Information About Her Spousal Support
The RHOBH cast member addressed the topic while celebrating a business milestone.
Sutton Stracke is making zero apologies about her financial situation.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom addressed the topic during Episode 8 of Season 13, which highlighted her West Hollywood boutique, The Sutton Concept. The Georgia native had invited her castmates to the store to celebrate its four-year run as well as its rapid and impressive expansion. She shed more light on her business journey in the RHOBH Aftershow with fellow 'Wife Garcelle Beauvais.
"I started the store because I wanted to be in fashion for a long time," she said in the December 13 broadcast. "But [my son] James said something to me when he was little. He said, 'Mommy, what do you do all day?' I was, like, 'Hmmm... Nothing. You know, go to board meetings, plan parties, make your lunch.' So I wanted to show my children that I, too, can run a business, work, be professional."
The Sutton Concept anniversary party was a sweet and validating moment for the divorcée, as she claimed there were many doubts about her ability to grow a successful business.

“It’s an important night for me, and I love that I’m doing it on my own,” she said about the shop in a Season 13, Episode 8 interview. “I didn’t take anybody’s money to do it, and that feels really, really good.”
At one point during Sutton’s interview, a producer asked if she had used any of her spousal support to start the boutique and keep it afloat.
“Of course,” she flatly replied.
A day after the episode premiered, Sutton returned to Instagram to share more photos from the anniversary party as well as a few words on the store's growth, including the addition of Sutton Brands — a sustainable circular fashion house — and her Green Line.
Sutton Stracke has encouraging words for women receiving spousal support
“I’d like to thank everyone for all of the support and love around the 4th Anniversary of [The Sutton Concept] SUTTON store. Like a graduation, it’s led to bigger things,” she captioned the December 14 post. “I had no idea this was coming, but I’m excited for where it’s going.”
Sutton then shared a message to other women who were also receiving spousal support: "And for any divorced women out there receiving spousal support: you deserve every penny, it’s yours. Now go make it even bigger! And it’s never too late. I believe in you."
Sutton Stracke's Ex-Husband, Christian Stracke
The Beverly Hills ’Wife was previously married to Christian Stracke, a London-based investment banker who began dating Sutton in high school. The two got married in 2000 and welcomed three children together: a daughter Porter Stracke as well as sons Philip Stracke and James Stracke.
Sutton shared more details about the marriage in the RHOBH Season 13 premiere, saying she and her ex were on “equal footing” at the beginning of their relationship, but that all changed once she became pregnant.
“My power diminished,” she said, “this became, 'Here’s your allowance.'”
Sutton explained that she gave up a career to take care of the family, which left her financially dependent on her ex-husband.
“I realized, wow, I allowed that to happen,” she continued. “I will never allow that to happen again.”
