The original story continues below.

When we first met Jill Zarin on The Real Housewives of New York City a whopping 10 seasons ago, we also got to know her family better, including her teen daughter, Ally Shapiro. We followed Jill for four seasons of the series, getting an inside look at the Zarin-Shapiro household a little better. In the years since she departed the show, Jill has popped up on the series, including during this current season, when she let fans into Bobby Zarin's emotional funeral. And now viewers might be wondering what Ally is up these days. Well, she's a busy a young woman in her mid-20's looking to make a name for herself in the art world.

"My Ally is doing phenomenal. For people who don't know, she graduated from Vanderbilt University a few years ago," Jill recently told The Daily Dish. After graduation, Ally tried out a few jobs "and she wasn't really satisfied," mama Jill noted. So it was then that she suggested that Ally go back to school. "And I told Allyson, we're fortunate enough that I can afford to continue her education, and I said, 'If you want to go back to school and pursue something that you really love, [you should].' And [we] talked about 'What is it?'"

For Ally the decision to go into the world of art wasn't as smooth as it was for Jill when she was plotting out her career as a young woman. "I always knew what I wanted to be. I wanted to be a buyer. I wanted to be in fashion retail. I knew it from the day I was born. So my parents were lucky; they knew what I wanted to be and they followed that path as far as my education and everything else," she recalled, adding, "But Ally, she was a little artsy."

Having studied photography and film as an undergrad, Jill already had a good idea of how much her daughter loved that world. "What she always loved every year, Ally and I would go to Art Basel in Miami starting about eight years ago. It became our thing," Jill explained, noting that Ally always helped her pick out art and together they would attend dinners and showings. So Ally decided to pursue her Master's Degree in contemporary art at Sotheby's Institute of Art. "Ally has an incredible eye for art. That's all I can say. So when she becomes an art dealer, check her out. She's graduating top of her class."
