Where the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 8 Yachties Stand After the Finale
Captain Sandy Yawn
When she attended the final crew dinner of the season, Sandy shared that she was looking forward to seeing her "love," Leah Shafer.
She also spoke about her love for her job.
"I love being a captain. It's something I live for, it's in my blood," she said in an interview on the finale. "I will be a captain until the day they put me in the ground or set me on fire."
Tumi Mhlongo
During the final tip meeting, Captain Sandy applauded "rock star" Tumi for having such a strong work ethic, for "maintaining [her] composure," and for bringing the smiles amid an exhausting final charter.
In the closing moments of the finale, Sandy said that Tumi was an "excellent" chief stew.
"I need a vacation ASAP," Tumi joked before she left the boat.
Luka Brunton
Below Deck Med Season 8 marked Luka's first time as the bosun, and Sandy had nothing but praise for the Below Deck Down Under alum.
"Luka, I'm telling you right now, you belong on the bridge, not the engine room," she said during the tip meeting. She later told him that he was "a leader."
Before he exited, Luka made plans to see Natalya once he got off of the boat.
Natalya Scudder
Though she decided to leave the boat before the charter season ended, Natalya happened to be in Genoa when the rest of the Mustique crew wrapped up.
She joined the crew for their final night out, and she made amends with Kyle before departing.
Jessika Asai
Jessika initially planned to head to Cannes, France with Luka after the season, but she changed her mind.
"With Luka, I learned a big lesson," she said while reflecting on their boatmance. "I just need a lot of time to get over this entire thing."
Kyle Viljoen
The second stew shared a tearful moment with Sandy in the wheelhouse before departing.
"From the bottom of my heart, I can't thank you enough for giving me an extra chance, an opportunity," he told her. "And, not only are you a captain for me, but you are a really good friend. And I respect you [for] who you are, and you are amazing at what you do."
"I know, I feel the same," Sandy responded. "You are a good person."
In his final interview, Kyle said that he felt like he would be "able to navigate" taking on a chief stew position in the future.
Lara Du Preez
The lead deckhand shared several sweet hugs with her fellow crewmates, including her mentor, Luka. As she left the dock, she had one final reflection.
"Why did I pack so much?" she wondered as she rolled two of her suitcases down the dock.
Haleigh Gorman
After an emotional goodbye with close pal and bunkmate, Lara, Haleigh left Mustique for the season.
Max Salvador
The deckhand, whose work ethic was questioned throughout the season, had a humorous reaction to being done with the charter season.
"Finally!" he shouted in a confessional. "Freedom, liberty..."
Jack Luby
Sandy told the chef that it was a "rarity" for her to see such an enthusiastic chef in the galley.
Lily Davison
Lily was the last crewmate to join the boat, and she certainly left an impression on the rest of her colleagues when she left.
After injuring her ankle on the beach during the final crew night out, Lily left Mustique a bit early to get her leg evaluated by the medic.
In her final interview of the season, Lily reflected on everything that went down and shared her goals for the future.
"I think I have to live my life with no regrets. You've been there, you've done it, everything you need to do, you learn from it," she said. "I could be a chief stew."
