Nick: The Junk Hauling Hunk

Jan 19, 2010As entrepreneurs, we are faced with difficult decisions on a daily basis. I decided to join Omar on the show, and I am glad that I did. Initially I was skeptical of Patti’s abilities, and I tried to test her authority. I kept expecting her to tell me things that I didn’t want to hear, but it was in fact quite the opposite. She really did have a genuine interest in helping us find our ideal match even if it required me to get a haircut (I needed one anyway). I never found her personality to be offensive, because I can identify with the strong, driven personalities that are necessary to be successful in business and life.
Omar wanted to show his date what it was like for us during the early days of our business when we were still on the trucks. He wanted to see whether his date would be there for him and willing to start all over with him if he lost everything tomorrow. I, on the other hand, was looking for a fun date with a fun girl. Patti and her team made it happen by helping me make the right decision. I think Omar and I both learned from our different dates. He probably learned that hauling junk is not a good date idea, and it’s probably not a good idea to put your potential mate through a test like that, although Rachel seemed to take it like a champ. I learned that Patti really does seem to know what she’s talking about even though her personality seems to rub some people the wrong way. You don’t necessarily have to be a genius to be an expert at something and get paid for it, but you just need to know more than the majority of the general public. I appreciate and can identify with Patti’s brazen personality, because that is exactly the same hustle and drive that it took for Omar and I to reach our current level of success. As entrepreneurs, we are never satisfied and always trying to get to the next level, but we can often get overly focused on the daily grind and not take the time to learn and grow both as individuals and as business owners. This experience was a great growth opportunity for us as individuals, and I am looking forward to the next chapter.

First of all Nick the hair cut was fab! It really brought out your eyes and cheekbones. Something that I didn't notice with all that bushy hair.
Second, love that you picked Dakota! I think the two of you looked really good together and I believe you can handle a woman such as her. I hope the two of you work out and try to keep in touch.

It was refreshing to watch one of Patti's clients finally interact with her in such a way that was not defensive or resistant, and that you trusted her advice. Also, I have to tell you that your looks along with your swagg and head for business are such a SEXY combination. I was really happy for Dakota (and maybe even a little jealous)! All the best to you!
First of all, haircut was an extremely necessary thing to do..way to clean up. 2nd of all, you and Dakota are perfect together!! Are you guys still talking?? I think Omar really needs a lesson from you..seriously Omar, hauling junk? You look like a really sweet guy who would be fun to hang out with! Just one question nick, have you ever dated a black girl? I really liked your positive attitude on the show. On the blog, you mentioned that you grew up in DC (lots of black chicks are there), but you're only into blondes and the occasional white/latina brunette??
Anyhow, good luck to you and omar. I'm in the process of launching an internet business with a dear friend. It's a rough rode, but I know that the benefits (in the long-term) are quite plentiful.

I have to disagree with your first sentence. Chasing money can cause you to lose a woman if you dedicate too much time to it and not enough time to her. My ex-BF made that mistake. Sure, he's a millionaire now, but he's living alone.
