Whatever Works

David explains his wants from a woman, and shares an anecdote for Patti.

My decision to go on The Millionaire Matchmaker was a difficult one. I am a very private person and the thought of being on TV did not make me comfortable. There was also a challenge between me and another young millionaire, so I felt I had to give it a try. Maybe Patti could actually find my match! In addition, promoting my motorcycle company, GIObikes.com, could do no harm.

Patti is a very talented lady and, for the most part, is very good at reading people. Although, I am not a chauvinist, I do have a more traditional view of the male/female relationship. I was a bit disappointed with the limited selections for me. There was little or no chemistry with the ladies.

I am basing my beliefs on what I have seen in my life. My parents have been married for close to 40 years now. . .happy days, unhappy days, but they are still together, and that's what love is about to me. Perhaps the only good thing about the communist system, in which my parents grew up, is that no one had more money than anyone else -- no better deal -- so people chose each other for who they were. I have been looking for the same, but it is difficult in today's materialistic world full of fakeness. Women armed with plastic bodies and men loaded with plastic credit cards; it's all one big illusion.

My mother is a stay-at-home wife and mother. When I was growing up, she read to me every day in two languages, packed my lunch every morning in my blue Transformers lunchbox, and helped me with my homework in the afternoon. Her genuine care and attention instilled in me the confidence I needed to succeed. She is the best mom and wife one could ever ask for, and I am looking for the same to create my family. I hope that's OK, Patti. . .

I was surprised to meet Tori Spelling, she is a lovely lady, and seems to be doing well as a mother, wife, and businesswoman. This is great and would work for me!

First, we need to define the difference between career woman, and business woman. A career woman is a doctor or an accountant, one that studies and then gets a job 9-5 every day. A businesswoman, on the other hand, can be a variety of things, but as an example say she is a designer with her own label and a few shops. I am not looking for a career woman that is climbing the corporate ladder. It definitely makes being a mother and wife far more difficult, but more importantly, we would be of completely different mentalities. If she is in the office all the time, this cannot be good for the development of young children.

Second, is the issue of freedom. If the husband is a semi-retired millionaire, that lifestyle does not exactly match up with a career person. How are unplanned days and spontaneous getaways to far away places supposed to work if "permission" is needed from some "boss"? When I find my match I want us to both have the freedom to enjoy our lives together, and share unique experiences. Isn't that the point!?!

Love and matters of the heart are subjective. . . what works for one, may not work for another. Why do we have to "fix" anyone? Whatever works! If it works -- go with it! This life is too short. Just be yourself.

Lastly, an anecdote which I dedicate to Patti: A very handsome man is dining alone in a restaurant while on a business trip. He sees a beautiful woman across the room, also sitting alone. He sends her a bottle of red wine with a note, it reads, "May I join you for a glass?" She accepts the wine and then writes her own note, which the waiter takes back to the handsome gentleman. It reads, "To get with me, you have to have a BMW, a beach house in California and 7 inches in your pants. . ." The man is shocked and writes back his note which he sends to the lady. It reads, "Well I guess I could trade-in my McLaren, Bugatti, and Lamborghinis and buy a BMW. And I could sell my four mansions, and collection of condos, to buy a beach house in California. But even for a woman as beautiful as you, I would not cut off 2 inches. Please send the wine back."

Good luck to everyone in their search! If you feel we would be a good match add me as a friend on Facebook.
